IEEE 802 milestone events on May 19 and May 20, 2024 For the event on May 19th, join vint cerf and other luminaries, including CS President Jyotika Athavale, IEEE 802 leaders James Gilb, Geoff Thompson, Robert Stacey, Clint Powell, Tuncer Baykas, in celebrating #internet and exploring what is next in its evolution. While in one part of the world we are trying to figure out how to leverage AI, LLMs, designing data-sharing and interoperability of multiple technologies, on many other parts of the world, including rural United States, estimated to be 2.9 billion, still do not have access to internet. If Universal Human Rights Declaration were to be rewritten nowadays, access to internet (and access to electricity) would probably be listed as basic human rights. If you have an idea on how to connect the unconnected around the world, here's an opportunity to blaze a trail. For my friends in supply chains and logistics, ensuring internet connectivity across the globe will definitely make end-to-end visibility more feasible. Plus, the interoperability could be integrated as a core design feature of the technological solutions at the very idea conceptualization stage. #openinnovation #challenge #supplychain #logistics @endtoend #e2e #equity #interconnectedness
