After 14 years working in various roles in the music industry and 18 planning different kind of events, I wanted to start sharing some of the knowledge I've gained. My career has spanned concert planning and organization, producer, management, booking, logistics and more recently handled ticketing issues. Now I'd like to provide some insights into the world of tour managing specifically - a demanding but thrilling job. As a tour manager, you keep the show on the road. On an indie tour, you may drive the van, sell merch, and coordinate everything - wearing many hats across various crew positions. For big artists, you oversee the team handling logistics - but either way, tour managers nurture the crew. You resolve conflicts, attend to needs, and ensure your band thrives on the journey. Managing a tour takes: * Meticulous planning and organization. * Budget mastery. * A cool head under pressure. * A warm heart and emotional intelligence. * The ability to smoothly manage many responsibilities. It's not an easy ride. You'll face challenges like: * Long hours and little sleep. * High stress troubleshooting issues. * Personalities clashing in close quarters. * Keeping people healthy and focused. * Sticking to tight budgets. It's a heavy workload made lighter by the joy of music. If you love the road and live shows, tour managing could be your perfect gig. But it’s not for the faint of heart. More tips in part two coming soon! #TourManager #TourManaging #ConcertTours #ConcertLogistics #ConcertPromoter #BackstageLife #RoadCrew #LiveEvents #EventManagement #MusicIndustry #ArtistManagement #TourAccounting #RoadManager #ProjectManagement #Logistics

Great article here about the work of location scouts. As an ex-locations person myself (albeit only for 4 years and a long time ago) I’m always evangelising about what a fantastic department it is to work in, and like the article says, much overlooked. Its an amazing place to learn the necessity of teamwork on a production. Not only do locations need to contribute creatively to the vision but they have to do it whilst working logistically for every other department. First of all you have to blow the mind of a director and designer, then you have to be able to listen to and understand what every departments needs are, you have to anticipate and address the problems before they arise, you have to be able to convince a location owner that it’s a good idea to let the film circus whirlwind blow through their property, you have to be a diplomat to balance all of this throughout filming and beyond, because you and others may want or need to come back to that location again. You need to do all that whilst being the first in, last out, often overlooked and always complained at because “are you &*#%ing joking?! I can’t park all the way over there, I have to have my car/van/truck right next to the location!” There’s a reason so many location managers become UPMs and producers.

We initiate coverage of Oriental Land, the operating company of Tokyo Disney Resort with a wide moat rating and a fair value estimate of JPY 4,450 per share. We believe the company’s ownership of the exclusive rights to operate TDR and its relationship with Disney Enterprises over the past 40 years has cemented its position as the most popular theme park in Japan, enabling it to capitalize on the growth of the amusement and leisure park industry, as well as inbound tourism. With its strong pricing power and effective investment strategies, we believe Oriental Land will continue to generate returns above its cost of capital for at least the next 20 years. We think shares are currently fairly valued. Full Report Here: https://lnkd.in/g45tX-vZ
