Ditch the vanity metrics 🔥 Thinking about what metrics to focus on to get a fair valuation that impresses investors? My short answer - forget the vanity metrics and zero in on what truly matters, with numbers that tells a story. Checklist (in short): ✅ Core financial metrics - prioritise revenue, ARR, and EBITDA over vanity metrics. Present clear, impactful numbers that demonstrate customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and the percentage of recurring revenue. ✅ Leverage ACV bookings - track ACV bookings as a forward-looking metric that reflects future revenue, and combine ACV bookings with ARR to provide a comprehensive view of business health. ✅ Monitor and showcase sales pipeline - understand the importance of tracking and showcasing your sales pipeline. Use the sales pipeline to forecast future performance, not just analyse past results. ✅ Contextualize and manage churn - analyse churn in context, considering your market and product type. Offset churn by focusing on growth and expansion revenue to maintain business stability. Implementing a subscription management solution in a earlier stage is helpful to stay on top of your metrics if you effectively want to track growth momentum.
