"48 Hours" can be the difference between a life of heartache and a life of hope. Alone, scared, hungry, out of money, and often without an I.D – newly homeless and at-risk youth will make bad decisions that they can’t take back... unless our Street Outreach volunteers find them first. For the month of April, they will work harder than ever to hit known hotspots (under bridges, bus stations, city parks) to distribute sleeping bags, clothing, food packs, and hygiene products and connect these kids with emergency housing, outreach centers and vital resources and referrals. We want them to know they have options, that there is a way out, and there are caring adults who believe in them – so they can move forward with hope. Need help or know a youth who does? Supporting the Poorest Among Us: A Call for Volunteers and Donations In many parts of the world, extreme poverty remains a harsh reality. Among the most affected are children and families who struggle daily to meet their basic needs. These individuals live without adequate food, shelter, and healthcare, often facing insurmountable challenges that prevent them from breaking the cycle of poverty. The Harsh Reality For very poor people, every day is a battle for survival. Children, who should be enjoying their childhood and attending school, are instead forced to work or beg to help support their families. Malnutrition is rampant, leading to severe health issues and stunted growth. Without proper education and resources, the future for these children looks bleak. Why We Need Your Help Organizations like the Feed in Need Foundation work tirelessly to support these vulnerable populations. However, we cannot do it alone. We need volunteers and donations to continue and expand our efforts. Your contribution can provide immediate relief and long-term support, giving these children and families a chance at a better life. How You Can Make a Difference 1. Donate: Every dollar counts. Your financial contributions can help us provide essential resources such as food, clothing, and educational materials. Even a small donation can have a significant impact. 2. Volunteer: Your time and skills are invaluable. Whether it’s helping to prepare and distribute meals, organizing donation drives, or providing educational support, donate school supplies, used clothes or toys, your involvement can make a real difference in the lives of those in need. 3. Spread the Word: Raise awareness about the plight of the very poor and encourage others to get involved. Share our mission with your network, and inspire others to join the cause. Join Us in Making a Difference We invite you to join us in our mission to support the poorest and most vulnerable members of our society. Your generosity and compassion can change lives and bring hope to those who have none. Together, we can build a brighter future for all. #EndPoverty #SupportThePoor #Volunteer #DonateNow #FeedInNeed #ChildhoodWithoutHunger #CommunitySupport #MakeADifference #HopeForAll

For someone experiencing homelessness, moving into a new home is more than just a fresh start—it’s a financial challenge. Storage fees add up or furniture is being stored at a friend or family member's home, and without volunteer support, the cost of renting a moving truck can be overwhelming. And what if there’s no furniture to move? Beds, tables, chairs, a couch, dishes—all the basics of making a house a home—often need to be purchased. Local nonprofits and our team can help, but many still face these expenses on their own. This Giving Tuesday, your support can give the gift of a fresh start by helping someone cover moving costs and create a home filled with comfort and stability. Together, we can make sure no one has to face these challenges alone. Donate at https://lnkd.in/e7ecSpkr

🔸 Did you know? 🔸 In County Durham and Tees Valley there is: 38.7% child poverty rate 23.7% living with limiting long-term illness 21.0% of households in relative poverty 🔸 Introducing SAC's Community Kitchen Project 🔸 We believe nobody in County Durham should go hungry and have their needs pushed aside. The Community Kitchen intends to run a weekly lunchtime service, free of charge, no questions asked, for anyone in need. The open door policy intends to support people in the cost-of-living crisis and alleviate financial pressures where we can. We also hope to use this space to help build connections between the local community and students - through sharing meals and conversations. The meal will consist of a nutritious hot main, a pudding and fruit. The meal itself will be free, however we plan on accepting donations. These donations will be used to support the running of the Kitchen, and any surplus will be donated towards a local cause or charity. Follow us on Instagram @studentactionforchange to be updated on the upcoming Community Kitchen events!
