John Sundholm you nailed it. The frustration around Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is real, and your video hit a nerve with so many job seekers for a reason—it validates everything they are experiencing, what we and others have been talking about for years. I thought it would be interesting to share what we have learned over 5 years of building Intry, regarding the "why" it's happening. Legacy Systems A lot of ATS tools still run on outdated frameworks (think MS-DOS level technology). They’re not built for the modern job market, so resumes with non-traditional formats, creative layouts, or certain key terms often don’t make it through. Qualified candidates get lost in translation. Bias in the Algorithms ATS algorithms filter based on keywords and qualifications, but the criteria are often narrowly defined. If the terms don’t align perfectly with what a recruiter is searching for, even qualified candidates might never get seen. That’s not about skills, it’s about language. Historical Data Problems Many ATS systems are built on old hiring data, so they often repeat past patterns—reinforcing biases and overlooking diverse candidates. The system works for those who "fit the mold," but for everyone else, it becomes a barrier. The good news is that there are tools that can help the job seeker get past many ATS systems. It isn’t about “gaming the system" it is about making sure the resumes aren’t lost before human eyes even have a chance to see them. Intry is just one of them. ATS aren't perfect as you talked about in your video, but understanding how they work gives job seekers an edge. It's not cheating—it's about being seen. You unintentionally validated everything we (Intry and others) have been saying and working to solve! So thank you! #ATS #JobSearch #CareerSolutions #IntryCareers #JobSeekerEmpowerment #CareerTech #OptimizeYourResume" https://lnkd.in/ggG-n6AZ

The Inevitable Separation of Money and State? Just as separating church and state protected religious freedom, Bitcoin might be paving the way for financial freedom. Historically, both institutions have fostered large-scale collaboration and coordination among people. However, keeping money free from political influence could be key to a fairer economic future. Is Bitcoin the tool we need to achieve this? #Bitcoin #FinancialIndependence #Decentralization #FutureFinance

Building Pathways for Tomorrow’s Medical Imaging Professionals 🙏 As the President of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), Heather M. has a clear vision: elevate the visibility of our field, expand our reach, and enhance patient care quality and safety. Each initiative she’s set forth this year embodies a strategic step towards fulfilling ASRT’s mission to advance our profession. Here’s how Heather’s leadership is guiding us into a new era. 1. Building Pipelines into the Profession One of Heather’s first initiatives focuses on creating awareness and interest in medical imaging and radiation therapy among young students. By targeting middle and high school students—and their guidance counselors—ASRT aims to open doors to a career in radiologic sciences, where many might not have considered it before. Heather’s approach here is twofold: raise visibility among youth through partnerships with national career development organizations, and leverage platforms like Daniel (Danny) Gonzales, MSRS, RT(R) FASRT’s “Be Seen” campaign and Brandon Smith’s community recognition initiative to drive interest in medical imaging. Increased early exposure can be pivotal. Studies show that career choices are often influenced by early encounters, especially in fields that require specialized training like radiologic technology (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2023). By establishing ASRT’s presence at school career events, Heather is positioning radiologic technology as a viable, rewarding path for students considering their futures. Not only will this effort help grow our workforce, but it will also create a more diverse pool of future ASRT members, ensuring the profession thrives in the coming years. 2. Championing Inclusive Care for Individuals with Disabilities Heather’s second initiative emphasizes ASRT’s commitment to inclusive patient care, especially for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). To equip radiologic technologists, she is introducing new continuing education (CE) resources focused on IDD care. This specialized training addresses a critical gap, ensuring all patients receive high-quality, empathetic service, and fostering a more inclusive healthcare experience for individuals with disabilities. 3. Community Outreach Through ASRT and Big Brothers Big Sisters Finally, Heather is bringing a community-first mindset by connecting ASRT with Big Brothers Big Sisters, one of the nation’s largest mentoring organizations. Hosting tours of the ASRT Museum and Archives for youth involved in this program gives them a chance to explore the rich history and dynamic future of medical imaging and radiation therapy. Heather Moore’s initiatives are already in motion, and their collective impact has the potential to reshape ASRT’s outreach and influence in communities nationwide. #nrtw2024 #radiologictechnologist #xray #radiologix
