Well done to the Team
Early Sunday, while most of us slept, members of TSA's Victorian team chose to participate in the Melbourne Teams Corporate Triathlon. After challenging themselves to swim, cycle and run more than 14km at Elwood Beach, we're impressed they had the energy to gather for a post-event brunch! Go team! #TSAVic #MelbourneTeamsCorporateTriathlon #TeamSpirit #SundayFunday #BestForPeople

About 6 years ago a group of us, disillusioned with the status quo around performance driven inequality in swimming set up a new club to allow swimmers of all categories, young, old, competitive , triathlon, surf lifesaving or those of us who just want to keep fit, to stay in the game. Bridgend Swim Club CIO was born, designed to keep the community in swimming, 8 to 80! The swimmers decide to put as much or as little into it as they want. Participants have the choice as to why they want to swim and at what frequency. Our squads are based on age not ability although there is a range of ability across each individual squad. Our membership of masters, seniors and youth squads total over 300 and is growing. I am so proud of what has been achieved and truly believe in our philosophy, which goes against the grain. This article validates all that we have achieved and continue to achieve and that there is another way. Proud to be a Trustee of the club, onwards and upwards. #swimingforall #inclusion #choice #sportsdevelopment

Swimming wetsuits aren't just there to protect you from the cold. After competing in over a hundred triathlons over all sort of conditions I've found anecdotally that a full-sleeved triathlon wetsuit is just faster. We have scientific research to back that up. The percentage of the benefit obtained ranges between 6% and 11%. So let's say you're a 1:40 sec/100 yd swimmer, that's a 1:29-1:34 sec/100 yd pace after donning a wetsuit. https://lnkd.in/g-Yp6pnK
Why You Should Race in a Triathlon Wetsuit Whenever It's Allowed

In junior swimming, we often see early specialization in strokes and distances. But for young athletes, exploring a variety is key! Exposure to all strokes: Butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle - each challenges different muscle groups and techniques. This well-roundedness lays a strong foundation for future success in any stroke they choose to focus on. Distance diversification: From explosive sprints to strategic distance races, competing across various lengths keeps things interesting and develops different pacing skills. Beyond the pool: Open water, finswimming, lifesaving, pool rescue - these related disciplines can enhance their swimming skills, introduce new challenges, and boost overall fitness. By encouraging exploration, we nurture well-adapted, injury-resistant athletes who appreciate the full spectrum of aquatic sports. This not only builds a well-rounded skillset but also fosters a lifelong love for swimming that transcends competition. #LongTermAthleteDevelopment #SwimDifferent #VarietyIsKey

It’s been a busy last couple days getting things ready for the babies’ arrival! So today, we’re taking a break to go swimming. 🏊 Both babies are breeched right now and apparently swimming helps to flip breech babies. Anybody try this? Let me know in the comments what other tricks you may have tried that worked! #breechbabyproblems #pregnantwithtwins #week36 #digitalbusinessowner #businessstrategist #worksmarterplayharder

Water safety is crucial when swimming in open water. Leo takes this quite seriously when working with athletes. Swim friends, if you have not joined him in St. Pete or Clearwater Florida yet for some amazing swims, I highly recommend it! He will be one of the resilient swimmers highlighted in my book. #OWS #openwaterswimming #floridagulfcoast #marathonswimming #triathlontrainingking with athletes in the water.
