It’s been nearly a year since I started as a recruiter at Hyppies, and it’s been a whirlwind of growth, challenges, and belonging. Here, it’s not just about checking boxes—it’s about thriving in a compassionate, family-like culture. The word “family” might get thrown around in corporate circles, but at Hyppies, it’s lived. But the supportive environment here keeps me grounded. In a fast-paced culture, I’ve learned that balance isn’t optional—it’s essential. The biggest lesson? Knowing when to pause. Stepping back to recharge isn’t a weakness; it’s the reset needed to come back stronger. Each break helps me realign with my goals and ensures I’m moving in the right direction. The team here fosters this balance. Challenges are met with camaraderie and genuine care. We push boundaries but always with compassion—that’s how we thrive together. Last week it was encouraging to participate at ASTP’s Thematic Event “Making the Team Work: Focus on spin-offs”  Supporting #technologytransfer and helping #scientists to #commercialize their research can be on the one hand a challenging but on the other hand a rewarding job as we all benefit from the innovations created by the great minds. This two days seminar concentrated on 🔺 the importance of a strong ecosystem 🔺 assembling the right team 🔺 making the spin-offs investable 🔺 IP licensing and legal issues There were many inspiring sessions and discussions with the practitioners which confirmed that: ✅ #universities continue to be the door openers for the scientists´ teams to go to the market ✅ #knowledgetransfer teams (KTOs) are the ones translating science into commercialization, looking for current and future trends in the market ✅ we should avoid finding a solution to the problem that does not exist therefore #market validation is essential in every case ✅ support and guidance in #entrepreneurship, IP and investments by conducting #preincubation and venture #programs and mentoring (#entrepreneurinresidence) for researchers and #spinoff teams are an important tools for success ✅ clear #communication and harmonized #guidelines for spin-off policies will make Europe stronger in boosting innovation and deep-tech Big thanks to ASPT team for making this event happen 🙏!
