🎄 A #Danish Tradition That Comes From the Heart 🎄 Did someone say #Hygge? (It’s pronounced hoo-gah, by the way—because nothing says cozy like a word that feels like a tongue twister! Don’t worry, we won’t judge if you need to check our website, https://www.hygge.energy, for the pronunciation guide... we’ve all been there.) In Denmark, hygge isn’t just a word; it’s a way of life—especially during the holidays. One of their most charming traditions? Crafting woven paper hearts that turn Christmas trees into symbols of love and creativity. At Hygge Energy we’re all about weaving our own kind of magic. Through sustainable energy solutions and meaningful connections, we’re bringing communities together with the power of shared renewable energy. Just as those hearts symbolize togetherness, our work fosters collaboration, innovation, and resilience on the journey toward a carbon-neutral future. 🌍 As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on what truly matters: togetherness, community, and the joy found in small but impactful traditions—whether it’s creating paper hearts or pioneering a more sustainable future. This holiday season, why not embrace a little hygge? From all of us at Hygge Energy, happy holidays and here’s to a 2025 filled with warmth, innovation, and moments that matter. 🌟 Check out this The New Yorker Article on woven Christmas decorations from the land of hygge. https://lnkd.in/dQBXKuYE National Research Council Canada / Conseil national de recherches Canada, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), BDC, India Power, Indian Oil Corp Limited, Smart Village Movement (SVM) Diana Cartwright, CITP, Annabelle Larouche, Arthur Laferrière, CITP FIBP, Derek MacInnis, Lincoln Bleveans #HyggeEnergy #HolidayHygge #MerryChristmas #SustainabilityWithHeart #CraftingConnections

Interesting! 🙌🏻 Humans and wildlife have a very close relationship, this is because this relationship has deep evolutionary roots. One concept that explains the human desire to always be connected to nature is the Biophilia Hypothesis. This concept is widely used as a tool for analyzing the relationship between humans and nature, pet animals and also wild animals (Pudyatmoko, 2020). Apart from that, outdoor activities such as interacting with nature and wildlife have a significant influence on emotions and stress reduction (Clayton & Myers, 2009). Based on these benefits, it can be concluded that interactions between humans and nature are beneficial for the human body, mind and emotionally. In this way, activities in nature can be used directly as a Wilderness Experience which contains many benefits.

Biophilia: The phenomenon that draws us to the wild Have you ever felt a sense of calm when walking into a lush park or gazing out at a forest? That's not just relaxation. It's Biophilia – our natural connection to nature. 🚨 Why Biophilia matters in 2024: In our fast-paced, urbanized world, we're spending less time outdoors. The result? ↳ Anxiety ↳ Increased stress ↳ Reduced creativity ↳ Sense of disconnection ↳ Increased destruction of our natural world Restoring our nature relationship is not just about feeling good; it's about enhancing our cognitive function, mental health, & overall quality of life. + if more people feel this way, we will protect & restore nature at scale. 🐞 Biophilia in Action: Health & Healing: Nature scenes lower stress and aid recovery. Hospitals have noticed faster patient recovery with views of greenery. Productivity & Creativity: Stuck for ideas? Nature can help. A simple walk outdoors can spark creativity & enhance problem-solving. Environmental Stewardship: Love for nature drives us to protect it. Realizing our deep connection with the environment is the first step toward sustainable living & conservation. 💪 3 Actions to incorporate Biophilia into your daily life: 1. Explore Nature: Regularly immerse yourself in green spaces. 2. Biophilic Design: Bring nature indoors with plants and natural light. 3. Mindful Engagement: Outside? Pause. Listen to the birds, feel the breeze. It deepens your connection with nature. Biophilia isn't just a theory; it's a reminder of our roots. In our pursuit of progress, let's not forget our fundamental need for the natural world. It's not about returning to nature; it's about understanding that we never really left. Let's embrace our Biophilia for our health & our planet. P.S. How do you connect with nature in your busy week? #biodiversity #nature #creativity

🌿🌍 One Planet, One Health 🌿🌍 Our connection to the Earth runs deep – from the soils beneath our feet to the plants reaching towards the sun, from the graceful animals that roam this planet to the beating hearts of humanity. 🌱💚 When each piece of this intricate puzzle is in harmony, a beautiful symphony of health and vitality resonates throughout our world. 🌿 Soil is where it all begins – the foundation that sustains life, providing nutrients and support for the plants that grow from it. Healthy soils mean healthy plants, vibrant and nourishing, reaching towards the sky with a promise of abundance and wellness. 🌱 Plants, in their myriad forms, are nature's healers and providers. They offer us sustenance, medicine, and the very air we breathe. When plants are healthy, they gift us with their vitality, ensuring that our bodies receive the nourishment they need to thrive. 🦒 Animals grace this Earth with their presence, acting as stewards of the land and guardians of balance in ecosystems. A world where animals are healthy is a world where biodiversity flourishes, and the intricate web of life remains unbroken and strong. 🌍 And at the heart of it all, lies humanity. When soils are healthy, plants are thriving, and animals are in harmony with their environments, we – as humans – reap the benefits of this interconnected ecosystem. Our health is intrinsically linked to the health of our planet, and by caring for the Earth, we care for ourselves. Let us strive for a future where every step we take is a step towards harmony and balance, where the rhythm of nature guides us towards a world where One Planet and One Health go hand in hand. 🌿💚 Together, let's nurture the soils, protect the plants, cherish the animals, and in doing so, safeguard the health and well-being of all life on Earth. 🌍🌿💫 #OnePlanetOneHealth #Harmony #Balance #Health #EarthConscious Let's work together to build a better, healthier future for ourselves and for generations to come. 🌎💚

In the lead-up to my book launch, I’ll be sharing each day about a theme I’ve explored in The Natural Advantage. Today, it’s all about how trees benefit our health & wellbeing in urban landscapes 🌳🏙️ When did you last spend time really appreciating a tree? It’s estimated that one large tree can provide a day’s oxygen supply for up to four people! 🙌 Not only that, photosynthesis powers 99% of the earth’s ecosystems, enabling us and the rest of the planet to survive 🍃 Trees do so much for us and our planet. How do trees benefit your health and well-being? If you’re interested in this topic, you can pre-order The Natural Advantage until its launch date on the 8th of October. The first 100 pre-orders on my website will be personally signed and there are still a handful left! And stay tuned for more this week 😊 #thenaturaladvantage #natureasmedicine #trees #nature #urbangreenspace #urbangreening #cleanair #lifestylemedicine

Reflecting on Our Priorities: The Unseen Gifts of Nature and Basic Necessities 🌿💧... Imagine if trees gave free WiFi... we'd all be planting like crazy. It's a pity they only give us the oxygen we breathe... In today's fast-paced world, we often overlook the simple yet essential blessings nature provides, including clean water and proper sanitation. The quote above highlights a crucial point: we prioritize what's convenient over what's vital. 🌱 Let's take a moment to reflect on our values and how we can realign them with the essentials of life... What if we cherished the gifts of nature and basic necessities as much as we cherish technology?... What if we could see the invisible threads connecting our well-being to the health of our environment and access to clean water? 💧 ... What if we valued the essential over the convenient?... As we ponder these questions, let's affirm the importance of being present and mindful of our impact on the world around us 🧘♀️... Let's Reflect What are the small, often overlooked gifts of nature and basic necessities that sustain us daily, such as clean water and fresh air? 🌳💧... How can we incorporate more gratitude and mindfulness in our lives to honor these gifts and ensure everyone has access to them? ... What actions can we take today to prioritize the essentials, like clean water and proper sanitation, over temporary conveniences? 🌿🚰... Let's use these reflections as a stepping stone towards a more conscious and compassionate lifestyle. After all, trees might not provide WiFi, but they offer something far more valuable: the very air we breathe. And clean water, often taken for granted, is a fundamental right that supports all life🌬️💧... #sdg6 #cleanwater #sanitation
