Safe Gathering Space: A well-maintained playground offers a safe space for children and families to gather, reducing the likelihood of them being exposed to unsafe areas.
Community Engagement: Playgrounds encourage community members to come together, fostering stronger relationships and a sense of belonging.
Positive Youth Development: Access to a playground promotes physical activity, creativity, and social interaction among children, contributing to their overall development.

Improved Mental Health: Playgrounds provide a natural setting for relaxation and stress relief for both children and adults, enhancing mental well-being.
Economic Benefits: Revitalizing public spaces can attract investment, boost property values, and support local businesses by drawing more foot traffic to the area.
Educational Opportunities: Features like a performance stage and mural and poetry walks can offer educational and cultural enrichment, inspiring creativity and learning.
Community Pride: A beautiful, functional playground can instill a sense of pride in the neighborhood, encouraging residents to take ownership and responsibility for their community.
Enhanced Quality of Life: Overall, a playground improves the quality of life for residents by providing a space for recreation, socialization, and cultural activities.
Choosing the right living arrangement for an aging loved one is a significant decision that impacts both the individual and their family. Assisted living communities offer a balanced solution that combines the independence of a private home with the care and support necessary for seniors. In our blog, read some of the top reasons why you should choose assisted living. #bestofseniorliving#cavalierseniorliving#AssistedLivingCommunityhttps://lnkd.in/eXDr6AWs
In our latest column for Aged Plus Magazine, we dive into the need for a ministerial taskforce to design a sustainable aged care model. The current funding structure is outdated, leaving many of our elders without proper care options close to home. It’s time to create a system that truly supports New Zealanders in their later years.
We're calling for:
🔹 A ministerial taskforce with peak body representation.
🔹A funding model that covers real costs, from daily care to infrastructure investment.
🔹 Diverse care options that reflect the needs of elders and their families, regardless of income or location.
🔹 Exploration of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) to address the impending shortage of aged care beds.
🔹 Urgency in addressing the 12,000-bed shortfall projected by 2032.

With over 30,600 assisted living facilities across the United States, these communities offer a blend of independence and support.
As our population ages, the demand for such facilities is projected to grow, making it essential to research and visit potential homes early. Consider important factors like care services, community environment, and location to ensure the best fit for your loved ones.

A reported £650k was spent by West Northamptonshire Council on new paths at Delapré Abbey and I've got questions...
To be clear, Delapré Abbey themselves had nothing to do with the development of the paths, it was all down to West Northants Council
When you combine this with,
❇️ The new Northampton marketplace, which could have been so much more for a reported £12million
❇️ Accessibility issues on the Persimmon Homes development in Towcester, which I successfully campaigned against and had changes made
Is a pattern of mistakes, missed moments and zero engagement with the local disabled community, emerging from all of this?
What are your thoughts on the paths at Delapré Abbey?
Has it made the area more or less accessible for you?

#WelcomeWednesday rolls around yet again, and today we have some wonderful groups that take care of a more spiritual need.
Omni Quality Living's Pleasant Meadow Manor is a long-term care home in Norwood. Nearly 100 residents enjoy an environment where the three pillars are hope, purpose and belonging. It welcomes volunteers to brighten the days its residents.
Meanwhile, Rising Above is a Christian-based mission that works towards unhoused individuals gaining the resources and training to help them back on their feet through a six month residential treatment program. This includes employment readiness, life-skills classes, and personal development. Because it's a residential program, the issue of housing is covered for a while, but the intention is for participants to be able to access their own home at the end of the six months. Frankly, without having to worry about where one is sleeping makes it easy to accomplish other goals.
Both these organizations have a spiritual aspect as well as fulfilling the tangible needs of their residents. You can learn more about them and similar groups on our Organizations page. https://buff.ly/3TFoosF#CommunityBuilding#HomelessSolutions#SeniorCare#FaithBased#HelpingHands
