One case in point is - Westin Hotels and Resort's Heavenly Bed In late 1990s, the Westin team researched the beds of all major hotels in the country for a year or so, and came up with a unique design which they named - Westin Heavenly bed. The bed became so popular that it triggered a - bedding revolution - in the hotel industry. Harvard Business Publishing has a case on the entire episode (link to case study : https://lnkd.in/dCTiyvFg) Guests started requesting Westin Hotels to sell the iconic bed. Till 2004, Westin sold 4000 beds and 30,000 signature bed-sheets and pillows. Guess the additional revenues and publicity from these customers!! 💡Hospitality explained in 30 seconds💡 Thank you Tile Collective for posting this question. Can you imagine how you'd treat your favorite 95-year-old grandma if she visited you? This is hospitality. Think about it: You'd offer her the most comfortable chair in your house, brew her favorite tea, present her favorite cookies on a delightful platter, and ensure the room temperature is just perfect for her. You would not get irritated if she didn't understand your answer, and you would not let her think her visit was ill-timed. You would speak up if she didn't hear you, not lose your patience. You would answer all her questions with care. And why would you do all of this? Simply because you care about her. So, what is hospitality then? Hospitality is making anyone who walks through your door feel as valued and cared for as your favorite grandmother. It's about creating a welcoming environment, personalizing the experience, and ensuring their comfort to the best of your ability. That's what true hospitality looks like.
