🌍✨ Proud to share #ECCA role in moderating and participating in the development of the #NationalCleanCookingRoadmap! This crucial initiative by MoWE, with the financial support of UNDP Ethiopia through the Climate Promise 2 project, aims to tackle one of Ethiopia’s most pressing issues. 🚨 Currently, clean cooking access in Ethiopia is alarmingly low at less than 10%. Each year, Indoor Air Pollution (#IAP) results in approximately 63,000 premature deaths. Moreover, rural women spend an average of 2-4 hours daily collecting fuel wood, cutting deeply into their productive time. Clean cooking is not just about energy security. It’s about: 🌿 Women’s empowerment 🌿 Environmental protection 🌿 Community health 🌿 Job creation 🌿 Economic growth Access to clean cooking solutions is essential for sustainable development. This roadmap is a vital step towards addressing these multifaceted challenges and promoting a healthier, more equitable future for all.
