Once again, Hospital at Home continues to prove it's impact; whether it's reducing readmission rates, lowering risk of delirium and falls, or having higher rates of patient satisfaction. Hospital at Home/care at home models deserve legislative support and are necessary for sustainability in the healthcare system.

#ICYMI 🏥 🩺 Local and state leaders broke ground on the Valencia County Hospital in Los Lunas. The hospital will take about a year and a half to construct and will be run by a partnership between Community Hospital Corporation and Lovelace Health System. The hospital will have its own emergency department and two operating rooms along with 11 in-patient rooms for overnight stays. Patients will have access to MRIs, X-rays and a pharmacy, something patients today have to go to Albuquerque for. https://lnkd.in/gmwv7t-6

Less than 1 month left to register! Do you want to empower your hospice to deliver exceptional care through the power of research? The final date to register for our #EstablishingResearchInYourHospice Conference is Friday 4 October. We know that other hospices across the country are just as passionate as we are about making a real difference in palliative care through research, but face challenges to translate research into impactful action. An estimated 63-82% of people will need palliative care but only 25% of hospices are currently research active. Here's why your hospice can't afford to miss this: 🔍Measure Your Impact: Research allows you to quantify the positive difference you make, attracting donors, grants, and strengthening your case for continued support. ⭐Attract Top Talent: A research-driven environment fosters a culture of innovation and excellence, making your hospice a magnet for the best staff. 🔝Sustainable Success: By participating in research, your hospice stays at the forefront of evidence-based care, ensuring long-term sustainability and exceptional patient care. Research matters. Will your hospice take the next step? Join us on 18 October 2024 in Sheffield. Register today at www.research-matters.org and take the next step towards a research-driven future. Step 1: Advance Directives... Had a great conversation via Linkedin with Ilene Corina BCPA She / Her (despite me totally flubbing her name initially, sorry Ilene!) about what the takeCHARGE Campaign is doing to advance patient care and get patients the representation they need. They have a great 5 step process with some excellent content for professional patient advocates and for caregivers/family members/patients alike to prepare for medical visits. Step 1, as above, is about advance directives. A VERY important first step, especially from an ER standpoint. Check out all the tips here: https://takecharge.care/ They take donations as well if you're so inclined and passionate about their mission!
