🌟 Analyzing success is the only sure way to create more of it. 🌟 So many challenges and problems...but what's working in the fourth quarter of living today? When we look at transforming the human experience of aging, it's important to ask, "What's working well?" Let's challenge ourselves to shift our focus from solely addressing problems and challenges. This concept, known as "finding the bright spots," was beautifully articulated by Dan Heath in his book Switch. Heath reminds us that "human beings are hardwired to analyze problems, but not success. However, analyzing success is the only sure way to create more of it." By identifying and amplifying these bright spots, we can pave the way for more positive outcomes and innovative solutions in AgeTech and beyond. "Those impacted by your transformation want surprise as much as you want to come out of anaesthesia unexpectedly missing a limb" - so let's learn to state the non-negotiables! My next article will explore other ways we can activate agency as a driver of #transformation.
Latest from Elena Bondareva from Vivit Group Worldwide Excerpt: My last column busted the myth that #transformation hinges on changing hearts and minds. I illustrated why we are better off targeting behaviour change directly. Does choice even matter? Absolutely. Let’s pinpoint when choice is a powerful driver of #regenerative transformation. 🌟 Did you know? The top 911 calls often involve older adults who've taken a fall. Not only can these incidents result in serious injuries and significant costs, but they also place increased demand on our first responders. So, how can we address multiple challenges at once? Picture a solution that helps cut down on 911 calls, prevent falls, reduce associated costs, and even minimize injuries to first responders from lifting and transferring fallen adults—all without requiring higher-ups to make big decisions, increase budgets, or hire more staff. What if we could maximize our current resources to achieve more? It may sound too good to be true, but it's not! This is a Bright Spot worth exploring further! #AgeTech #BrightSpots #Innovation #ThinkDifferent #Collaboration Join us THIS Thursday, April 18 at 7:30 AM Venture X for the (un)Conference Meet-Up to hear how Castle Rock Fire Department and Rescue, Nymbl Science, and the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) are tackling this challenge and seeing RESULTS! Wonderful session, everyone. We received amazing feedback and had insightful questions and notes from you all. The best crowd! Thanks, Daniel Melendez for the quick final summary: The 5 key takeaways from Aubrey de Grey and Cristina Imre conversation are: 1. Building diverse, interdisciplinary collaborations that connect different domains of expertise is important for making significant progress on complex, global challenges. 2. Aubrey de Grey pioneered anti-aging research by realizing aging could be treated as a solvable biological problem, despite initial skepticism of his unconventional ideas. Persistence and rebutting criticisms can shift fields over time. 3. Early life experiences profoundly shape one's motivation to tackle important but overlooked issues and make a positive impact on the world. Pioneers often address problems others aren't focused on yet. 4. Overcoming criticism of novel ideas requires clearly articulating concepts and rebutting criticisms, but this process may eventually shift entire fields to acceptance as ideas gain support through demonstration. 5. Misconceptions exist that longevity research will negatively impact sustainability, but data shows concerns over issues like overpopulation are unfounded given declining birth rates and technologies emerging to address pollution. The full REPLAY will be available on our YouTube page shortly. Subscribe here: https://lnkd.in/eMdn9kMU #longevity #antiaging #sustainability

I frequently champion the work of Bradley Schurman. All my life, I’ve been fascinated by health at age - its massive impact on overall quality of life and our capacity to extend and enhance it. #longevity is now a hugely important research and subject area. Rightly so - this is world-changing material - critical not just for our lives but more for those who will be young amongst an ageing population. Watch and learn. We all need to educate ourselves, #empower ourselves and take responsibility. #ageing well isn’t a nice to have - it’s a societal must. I want to see as many people as possible embrace this and fast. DM me here for further information, an energy injection, or other power boost to get your plan sorted for the #100yearlife. It’s never too soon to start. #longevityeconomy #longevitylifestyle #proage #power

Humanity is in a race to extend longevity. And this isn't about adding sick years to the end of life. It's about pushing healthy years into the middle. We are hurtling towards a brave new world where average life expectancies will surpass 90 and even 100 within our lifetimes. This will change everything; society and the economy need to evolve quickly to keep up with scientific innovations. Here's a trailer for Charles Mattocks' new docuseries, which will debut later this year. Please give it a look and let me know what you think. Stay tuned for more! #longevity #documentaries #innovation

This is a post from one year ago, do I feel the same way? Absolutely! let's see some truly new innovative thinking coming through. ...................................................................... We are in challenging times, with issues that need resolving! we frequently default to our familiar patterns to try and do this. We reach out to our peers, raising the issues and seeking new ideas but these conversations often resemble those we've had year after year, recycled dialogues that echo past strategies and solutions. As you consider the image below, pose this singular question to yourself... Why is this image here, and what relevance does it hold? These are all incredible bits of innovation, thirty years ago they all would have eluded the predictions of any observer, regardless of the number of people spoken to. They represent creations beyond the bounds of conventional expectations or imagination. I am not suggesting that we stop listening to our peers. However, I do believe that it is crucial to recognise our current situation: a situation that has progressively become worse, an environment cluttered with ideas that have been circulating for years and have clearly not fixed anything. If we aim to implement genuine, lasting solutions in Health and Social Care, we must be open to considering ideas that the majority may not even realise we need. This path, although unfamiliar, may hold the key to transformative breakthroughs. #socialcare #nhs #innovation #bebold #lookahead #pushingboundaries #thinkbigger #focusonthefuture #outwardminset

Rewriting the Rules of Human Potential 🌟 The journey of health and performance has always been about more than just numbers, it’s about unlocking what makes us truly exceptional. Over the years, I’ve discovered that the synergy of science, discipline, and curiosity can lead to breakthroughs we once thought impossible. What drives me isn’t just achieving results but exploring how our understanding of the human body can inspire others to think bigger, aim higher, and live healthier. It’s about showing that we can push limits while staying balanced, present, and connected to the process. Stay Tuned, the impactful a thoughtful approach to health and innovation can be, not just for individuals but for entire communities. I’m deeply inspired by the work that focuses on blending science with humanity to create lasting change. Let’s continue redefining what’s possible, one step, one discovery, one connection at a time. #HumanPotential #Innovation #HealthImpact

We are on an individual and collective transformation at PolicyLink. A revolution of the soul…
The next article in the Stanford Social Innovation Review series is, 'A Revolution of the Soul' by our CEO Dr. Michael McAfee and our Vice President of Research Abbie Langston. In this article they discuss how we the people must take ownership for this nation, delivering systems, structures, and norms that act in service of the flourishing of all people. "These are the seeds of the world we want to create," they write, "but we do not have the soil to plant them in." They will not grow in political, social, and economic systems that fail to acknowledge the fundamental dignity and interconnectedness of all humanity. There is only one choice: we must develop individual and collective souls that are at last grounded in love for all. And each of our organizations and every sector in society must be willing to shoulder the scale and depth of this responsibility.
