In our latest edition of Work+Space Magazine: The Inspiration Issue, we featured the motivational story of former British Olympic gold medalist rower, Ben Hunt-Davis MBE, written by our co-founders, Jason and Shay Hughes. After inviting Ben to speak to our team, we had many inspirational takeaways, that anyone—and every team and company, no matter the industry—can apply to their personal and professional lives. One primary takeaway from Ben that stood out to us comes from one of his quotes, “If you see something that’s not as good as it could be and choose not to discuss it, you’re helping us lose.” It takes a strong commitment to your goals to both start—and stop—what isn’t working and to have the courage to speak up when something isn’t going to directly contribute to accomplishing your team’s crazy goal. Practicing this concept helps make our team’s boat go faster. Learn more about Ben’s story and our takeaways in our latest Work+Space Magazine article, featured in the October newsletter of Will It Make The Boat Go Faster? Onward! https://lnkd.in/gnGptzPK

While doing the 50km #Megamarsch in #Hannover yesterday ( organised by Megamarsch / hundert24 GmbH ), i had time to think about the following: Your will sets your limits! This sentence resonates deeply with me both in my hiking adventures and professional pursuits. In hiking, I've learned firsthand that determination is the key to pushing boundaries. It's not just about physical endurance, but also mental resilience. Overcoming obstacles on the trail has taught me the power of perseverance and the importance of knowing when to prioritize safety. My determination shapes every step of my journey, guiding me towards new heights, both physically and mentally. #HikingGoals #Determination #PushYourLimits Similarly, in my career, "Your will sets your limits" serves as a mantra for personal and professional growth. Just as in hiking, overcoming challenges and constantly learning are essential. Understanding my strengths and taking care of myself are crucial aspects of this journey. My drive propels me forward, shaping my goals and driving me towards success in all my endeavors, particularly in experimentation and user research. #CareerGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #PushBoundaries Embracing discomfort and stepping out of my comfort zone is essential in both hiking and my career. It's through these challenges that I continue to grow and achieve new heights. 💪 #StepOutOfComfortZone #EmbraceChallenges #GrowthMindset

Reflections on Mustang Sally and her Alpine Adventure Day 5 with Torque Events While I initially felt a bit disappointed for not keeping up with the updates on Mustang Sally's alpine escapade, I've come to realise that reflecting on these moments holds an unexpected power. Life's circumstances sometimes pull us away from being fully present, but they also offer profound insights in retrospect. Day 5: Zurich to Davos Our journey from Zurich to Davos was nothing short of breathtaking. Driving through Switzerland’s stunning landscapes, I found myself captivated by a country I had never visited before. Each turn of the alpine passes brought a new sense of wonder and exhilaration. But beyond the scenic beauty and the thrill of high-speed drives, something deeper resonated with me. The warmth I felt wasn’t just from the pleasant weather; it was from the profound connections formed during this adventure. A Journey Beyond Scenery, staying in the highest town in Europe, I expected the cold but was met with surprising warmth—both from the environment and from the people around me. The true highlights weren’t the jaw-dropping views or the serene spa moments, though they were indeed blissful. The most profound warmth came from the deeper connections with my partner and the newfound bonds with leaders and team members I had just met. During moments of high stakes and adrenaline, a sense of unity and protection emerged. One standout moment was navigating a perilous hairpin bend, where the words of my partner, “We live together, we die together,” struck a deep chord. In that intense instance, those words solidified not just our relationship but the collective spirit of Team Charlie—the "Dream Team." Reflections on Leadership and Connection Reflecting now, I see that this adventure was about more than just an alpine journey. It was about leadership, trust, and forging connections that transcend the ordinary. These experiences reaffirmed the power of unity and the importance of being in the moment, even if it’s in hindsight. Feeling inspired and grateful for this incredible journey and the amazing people who made it unforgettable. Here's to more adventures, deeper connections, and the relentless pursuit of living fully. https://lnkd.in/eU8KgXwV? #Leadership #Teamwork #Adventure #Reflection #MustangSally #AlpineJourney #Switzerland #InTheMoment #Connection #Inspiration #BusinessJourney #TravelDiaries #TeamCharlie #torqueevents

When a mountaineer climbs a mountain, they do not rush to the summit. They pack their bags, climb up to a section, acclimate, and unpack some of their bags so they are not weighted down. Once they acclimate, they ascend to the next level and repeat the process. Once they reach an altitude where all they need is their climbing shoes, ropes, and a little bit of gear, they climb to the summit. Why do most people walk through life carrying their baggage from the past? It's okay to stop and unpack some things so that you can reach your summit. Nothing should stop you!! #personalgrowth #climbyourmountain #SelfReflection #OvercomingObstacles #worklifebalance

I just returned from an incredible trek to Annapurna Base Camp, and I couldn't resist bringing along the Tekkon flag to the summit! 🚩 Despite encountering a massive hailstorm and snowfall along the way, the breathtaking view from the top the next day made it all worthwhile. The journey was not only physically challenging but also a profound learning experience that holds significant parallels with the professional world. Here are some key takeaways I wanted to share: - 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Conduct thorough research and only trust advice from experienced individuals for better preparation. - 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐆𝐞𝐚𝐫: Ensure gear functionality through testing as any malfunction can pose serious challenges. - 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠: Check weather forecasts and plan timings accordingly to match weather conditions. - 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲: Stay physically active to navigate the demands of the journey effectively. - 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭: Maintain confidence in yourself and your abilities throughout the journey. - 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐮𝐩 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬: Always have contingency plans in place, ready to switch to option B if option A fails. - 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭: Trekking is a collaborative effort (unless a solo trek), so think and act as a cohesive group rather than as individuals. - 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Trust your instincts, especially when facing uncertain or challenging terrain. - 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Stay calm and composed to avoid succumbing to anxiety, which can be more debilitating than altitude sickness. - 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Build a supportive network of experts along the way, but be cautious of negative influences - 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Plan the itinerary but remain open to flexibility and changes as needed. - 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Don't hesitate to backtrack and ascend again when confidence is regained. - 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Celebrate successes with your team. - 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Provide assistance and support to fellow group members throughout the journey. - 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Preserve the natural environment by keeping it clean and respecting nature's beauty. As I reflect on these lessons from ABC, I'm reminded of their applicability to the professional world and my role at Tekkon. #mountainmotivation

This Saturday, I achieved a goal I set for myself 12 months ago: completing the legendary SaintéLyon. 82 km of nighttime running, 2500 m of elevation gain 🏔️ , freezing temperatures… 🌃 ❄️ A race that both fascinated and intimidated me. Back then, I wasn’t even a runner, but I decided to take on this challenge. Today, I’m proud and thrilled to have accomplished it. 🏅💪 This experience taught me a lot, and I can’t help but draw parallels with my daily life: 1️⃣ Setting ambitious goals: Whether it’s running a challenging race or managing key accounts, aiming high and believing in yourself is essential. 2️⃣ Preparation and discipline: Success requires careful preparation and consistency, qualities that are just as crucial in the professional world. 3️⃣ Dealing with unexpected challenges: Fatigue, tough conditions, and self-doubt taught me to stay flexible and focused—skills I use daily in client management. 4️⃣ Persevering to the finish line: In both trail running and business, the key is to stay committed to your goal, no matter how long or difficult the journey. This race was an incredible lesson in resilience and pushing beyond limits. It reminded me that, no matter the challenge, with preparation and determination, anything is possible. 🚀 Thank you to everyone who supported me on this journey, and I hope this inspires you to take on your own challenges—whether personal or professional. #SaintéLyon #TrailRunning #Goals #Resilience #Perseverance #Fitforfuture
