My first year at Green School Bali showed me what it's like to be in a school that is wild. Wildness—participating [as/like] Nature—when we: 🥥 Lead [as/like] Nature: when we create spaces together where everyone can contribute and implement ideas for the good of the ecosystem. We do this when learners of all ages (students and teachers) create school policy together. We did this with the Independent Study Courses. 🥥 Learn [as/like] Nature: when each learner enacts their understanding in ways that play to their strengths, yet aligns with specific learning intentions. We do this when learners have the freedom to imagine how they will express themselves, not just to choose between different options. 🥥 Thrive [as/like] Nature: when we appreciate and recognize that learning is a 24/7/365 process. We do this when learners contribute the experiences they have outside the classroom to their learning story. We do this when learners choose their own adventures and document their learning. 🥥 Reciprocate [as/like] Nature: when we learn and do in order to contribute to the ecosystem, and in turn, we receive from that ecosystem so that we flourish. We do this when learners engage in projects that benefit (human and more-than-human) life and learn from those they impact (or mark). We did this when each and every one of our capstone projects was about making positive change, asking "if not us, then who?" 🥥 Organize [as/like] Nature: when we appreciate that there is order in chaos so long as there is coherence. We do this when we adapt and make changes to prioritize students' needs. We did this countless times. In wildness there is aliveness. We can if we want to. We don't need to start off writing completely different stories; we need to unfold the aliveness of different kinds of relationships. From different relationships emerge different actors who participate in different stories. Thank you to everyone at Green School Bali for this wonderful first year. What Benjamin has written here resonates deeply. Leaders of UK schools, we have two options when we read this: Dismiss these ideas simply because we’re not in Bali. Or Look at the healthy practices we already have (eg how we give children agency, how we work with our staff teams, why we learn outside at Forest School, why we go on residential) and simply think of these practices aligned with the wisdom in this post. Thinking in a way that aligns our practice with the natural ecosystems we are a part of, can surely serve further to shape them in ways that are more likely to lead to the humans in our schools thriving.

Spill the Facts: In the world of higher education, the crunch for space is real. For every 6 students pursuing higher education, there's just 1 hostel bed available. This stark ratio isn't just a number—it's a reflection of the challenge many students face in securing a spot in on-campus accommodation. Habiiito is set on changing this narrative. We are here to tip the scales in favor of students, ensuring that quality living spaces keep up with the growing demand. Our mission is to create accessible, comfortable, and tech-equipped living quarters for every student who steps through the university gates. This is more than a commitment. It's our pledge to the future of education. 📞 +91 98111 62641 📧 info@habito.in #Habiiito #EducationalEquity #HostelCrisis #HigherEducation #StudentWellbeing #AccommodationSolutions
