March is a great month for tech companies to: - Do something with 2023’s metrics now that you’ve analyzed it. - Know what you’re doing with the budget (finally.) - Figure out who is available contractor-wise if funding fell through. - Focus on Security Awareness Training. - Figure out any charitable or educational causes your company can support this year. - Talk to a conversion copywriter so you can make the most out of an uncertain year.

The end-of-year giving season is like the Super Bowl for nonprofits - except instead of touchdowns, we’re scoring donations... and if you’re not leveraging matching gifts, you’re leaving money on the field. Here’s the deal: nearly 30% of donations happen in December, and 10% come in the last three days. Add matching gifts to the mix, and you can double (or triple!) the impact of every donation. Think of it as a holiday BOGO for generosity. Here’s how to get those matches rolling: 1️⃣ Promote matching gifts everywhere. Emails, social posts, direct mail—if it’s a communication, it needs a matching gift mention. Bonus points if you include a QR code. (Yes, they’re still cool.) 2️⃣ Create a standout matching gift page. Make it easy to find, mobile-friendly, and so clear that even Uncle Bob can figure it out during halftime. Pro tip: Include a matching gift database tool so donors can instantly check eligibility. 3️⃣ Use urgency to your advantage. Deadlines are powerful—“Submit your match before Dec. 31!” sounds way better than, “Hey, do this sometime.” 4️⃣ Follow up with unmatched gifts. Remember those donors from earlier in the year? They might not have claimed their match yet. Now’s the perfect time for a friendly nudge. Check out our latest blog from our friends over at Double the Donation for more tips on how to use matching gifts to boost year-end fundraising. ( Link to matching-gift tune-up tips in the comments )

Cyber Monday is all about finding great deals, but what if we flipped the script? Shopping with purpose—supporting causes and small businesses that make a difference in our communities. As we enter the giving season, it's easy to get caught up in the ads and endless “wants.” But let’s pause for a moment to focus on the asks—the heartfelt missions of nonprofits, the calls to action from community organizations, and the needs of those around us. Did you shop Cyber Monday today? Do you have some funds left to shop one of your favorite charity's Wish List or Adopt-A-Family? Will you be participating in Giving Tuesday? Whether it’s a donation, a share on social media, or volunteering your time, your generosity can ripple out and create real change. Social media and digital tools empower us to amplify good. Together, we can transform trends into meaningful action and make this season about giving back as much as we receive. 💙 How will you give today and tomorrow? Let’s share ideas and inspire each other! #CyberMonday #GivingTuesday #SocialImpact #DigitalForGood

It's Monday... which means I've had the weekend to look at data, and find weird things that jump out at me. 🙃 So, at Fundraise Up we have to do *a lot* of A/B tests against other donation forms... why? Because a) the only thing we do, all day every day, is donation forms (tight focus) and b) the skepticism around a platform that has no budget impact, performs better than anything on the market, and has no contract lock-in is HIGH to say the least. These are the results that Charles Lehosit shared with me from a test recently wrapped. This is a test against a donation form... 📣 For a public media organization 💲 That costs a lot of money in license fees and customization costs 📈 Has been optimized in the past -- with great labor. So what jumps out at me? 🤔 1. The FRU version acquired almost 36% more recurring monthly donors. 2. The average AND median are higher than the incumbent platform 3. Overall revenue is higher - *and this test only factors the first monthly donation installment!* - it gives a handicap to the incumbent by assuming they only stay for one month, on both. TL;DR: By simply replacing their current donation form (keeping everything else about their program the same), this org will see an almost 21% increase in overall conversions and an almost 36% increase in recurring donations. This means an increase in ROI for the entire team involved in digital fundraising!!! No? Am I wrong? ❓ ❔ ⁉ Are there any other stats in here that make you go "hmm"? OR Even if you are trading some high-valued one-time gifts for lower value recurring gifts, is that a good trade off?
