Bidfood UK - one of the founding pillars of support that has underpinned our work since 2021. Last week we received yet another shipment of life-saving food from our friends Andrew Selley, Jim Gouldie and Louise Lyle, along with their incredible suppliers. Already this food has made it to desperate families, struggling under the burden of winter bills and the escalating cost of living, across what is still Europe's poorest country. Being kind is good for business, and like so many others, Bidcorp UK have proved over and over again, just how compassionate they are. We are grateful to Andrew, Jim and their entire team who made this delivery possible, even at a time when there is so much uncertainty across the Foodservice industry, particularly as a result of the recent budget. See, when customers are choosing which business to work with, you'd better be sure, social responsibility is right up there, which proves, it's good business to be kind. And once again, the incredible people and businesses across this platform prove over and over again, what a force for good our LinkedIn family are. Together #WeAreHope4 If you'd like to get involved, please head over to the link below, particularly as we face an uncertain winter 🙏 #winterappeal #foodservice #kindness

Some of the UK’s largest food companies have joined us in sending a letter to the UK Government supporting a ban on cages for laying hens. Aldi UK, The Big Table Group, Co-op, Greggs, Mitchells & Butlers PLC, Morrisons, Marks and Spencer and Waitrose & Partners have all supported calls to phase out cages for laying hens. And it’s not just food companies pushing for change. Our new polling, also released today, has found that more than two-thirds of the British public are willing to pay more for cage-free eggs - despite the cost of living crisis. We need Government action to End the Cage Age - once and for all. Read more: https://bit.ly/3CIu9A7

The Taste of Kent awards have become highly valued by food producers across our beautiful county. The award ceremony took place this summer and the winners have been excitedly able to add the ‘Taste of Kent’ badge to their products. The organisers, Produced in Kent deserve recognition for the hard work this must involve and for the boost it gives to these businesses. 🍏As a long-term resident of Kent, with experience working in food - and as a fortunate part-owner of a local apple orchard - I know how hard it can be in the food industry. ➡️ My top tips for any business owner in this sector would be: a) Understand your profit margin to make sure this covers all costs. b) Prepare a 12-month business plan and budget then compare your actual results against it. Investigate the reasons for all differences. and where necessary update your budget accordingly. c) Make a monthly plan of expected receipts and payments. This will help ensure you plan to have enough money to pay suppliers and HRMC as they fall due. d) Keep on top of your debtors - failure to do so will ultimately put a strain on your own ability to pay your suppliers. These tips reduce some of the financial worries business owners encounter, enabling a better night’s sleep and helping owners to enjoy their business. 😴 If we can help you with your business needs then please contact us using the contact details below: David 🍎 Fractional CFO Email: enquiries@fdsols.co.uk ☎️ 01732 843351 #fractionalFinancedirector #virtualfinancedirector #fractionalCFO #businessownersKent #Kentfoodindustry #kentfoodbusiness #financialmanagement #outsourcedfinance #parttimeFinanceDirector #businessgrowth #businessfuture #financialplanning
