What do you grab when you’re in a room full of children with special needs? Tissues. Lots and lots of tissues 😌 Yesterday, we visited a centre for children with special needs and were greeted by no less than 70 incredible children, all singing their hearts out with unspeakable joy and passion. I’m not ashamed to say it - I cried. 😭 We were joined by former Paralympic Judo champion Oleg Cretul, who sponsors this extraordinary school. Despite being underfunded, the school achieves remarkable things for these precious children, and we're determined to join Oleg's efforts to see how we can encourage and support them too. Honestly, my life is one of perpetual perspective, a journey where I witness the very best and the very worst of the human condition. From luxury to utter despair, it’s moments like these that overwhelm me and remind me of what truly matters. These incredible, happy children teach us invaluable lessons: To find contentment in simplicity. To pause and see the world through a child’s eyes, filled with wonder and curiosity. Despite their challenges and lack of resources, they sing, and when they sing, the whole world sings with them. During our visit, we handed out clothing generously donated by our amazing friends at Goods For Good, which included UNIQLO's thermal HEATTECH range, as well as food provided by Bidfood UK. Even the smallest gesture, like giving them our Hope4❤️ pins, was met with a level of gratitude that was deeply humbling. This emotional visit has left me with an overwhelming sense of gratitude, for these resilient children, for the dedicated staff at the school, and for every incredible person who supports us, making what we do possible. And I urge you, as you spend time with your families and celebrate the festivities, surrounded by what for most would be unimaginable luxury, just pause and breathe in, and appreciate all that you've worked hard to achieve. With love and immense gratitude, the Hope4 Moldova team ❤️ Together, #WeAreHope4 ❤️

The 2024 Paralympics are here, and athletes such as blind runners have to rely on a tethered guide to compete. Numerous times, this has ended with guides falling mid-race and taking the runners with them. What if there was a simple solution to change the way these athletes could perform? That's where HapticNav comes in. We did it with Simon Wheatcroft, a blind runner who made history by successfully completing the NYC Marathon with our technology. In 2021, we met with Daniela Velasco, a Paralympic runner, and donated our technology in hopes of showcasing the future of the Paralympics. To Daniela, our technology provided a new sense of freedom. For Haptic, it's all about making the world a bit more accessible for everyone. One athlete, One rider, One person at a time. See what Daniela had to say about our technology: https://lnkd.in/gzmgqfFN #HapticFuture #Paralympics #HapticTechnology #FutureOfNavigation.

Critical Project Lesson No.35 – Phased Delivery Some projects are so large, complex or will impact on operations so significantly that they have to be phased in delivery. This adds a new level of challenge as the PM has to keep control of not only the ongoing delivery of that particular phase but also understand that successful project delivery depends on completion of all project phases thus delivering all project benefits. Tonight is fight night!!! I have trained 6 days a week for four months to get fight ready and allow myself to walk through the ropes with confidence. Today my head is fully focussed on tonight and what I have to do, but all week I have also been thinking of the London marathon, a mere 4 weeks from now. I need to improve from a 10k to a marathon in just a few weeks. I have been running (or "roadwork" as boxers call it for some inexplicable reason???) as part of the fight training. This however needs to increased dramatically from tomorrow. First things first though. It’s back to my first love tonight; boxing. It will be tough, but anything worthwhile is never easy is it? The first half of this year is very busy as I will be: * Competing in a boxing match I- TONIGHT 24th MARCH * Run the London Marathon in April * Climb Kilimanjaro in June https://lnkd.in/eM969SBS OR https://lnkd.in/eM969SBS OR Text STEVIE24 to 70550 to make a single £5 donation. Some food for thought as you watch the amazing athletes at the Olympics this year. "In a survey of about 1,000 American athletes in the Olympic and Paralympic pipelines, 26.5% reported individual incomes under $15,000 a year." We love watching our country's athletes compete on the world stage, but remember that most are 1) not receiving extra $$$ from the big media and corporate endorsement $$, and 2) even if they get a boost in the Olympic weeks, they've gone through YEARS of hard work and struggle to get there. At Spid Werkz Foundation, we are here to help extraordinary athletes bridge financial and support gaps. With help from you, we can change the story for future athletes and use sport for good across the world! Please consider a tax deductible donation to support Olympic and Paralympic athletes! https://lnkd.in/eqacx6-2

Lessons from 'Pommel Horse Guy' Stephen Nedoroscik: Stephen Nedoroscik, known as the 'Pommel Horse Guy,' helped the USA men win their first gymnastics medal in 16 years at the Paris 2024 Olympics! His story has inspired many, and has valuable lessons for nonprofits: 1. Focus on Your Strengths Stephen is going viral because he only competed in one event (the pommel horse), which is rare for gymnasts, but being a 'Specialist' paid off. We can also focus on what we do best to make the biggest impact. Identify what sets your organisation apart and channel your resources and efforts into that area. 2. Overcome Challenges Stephen didn’t let his eye condition stop him; he adapted. We can turn challenges into opportunities by being creative and flexible. Embrace challenges and find solutions to overcome them. 3. Stay Dedicated Stephen’s hard work and passion led him to success. As leaders, we need to work just as hard to help others. Keep your mission in mind and stay committed to your cause. 4. Leverage Technology and Finance Wisely Just as Stephen used his unique skills to shine, we can leverage technology and smart financial practices to enhance our operations. Streamline processes, use data to drive decisions, and ensure financial sustainability. Stephen's story is a testament to the power of focus, resilience, and dedication—qualities that nonprofit leaders exemplify daily. Let's be inspired by his journey to push our missions forward :) #Olympics #StephenNedoroscik #NonprofitLeadership #Inspiration #TechForGood #Paris2024 #PommelHorseGuy His story: https://lnkd.in/g7VcgrFa

✨ Have you ever watched Paralympic Sitting Volleyball? ✨ Take a moment to check out this incredible clip of USA Volleyball Women facing China in the Paris 2024 Gold Medal match—where they secured their third straight gold! 🏅🏅🏅 The pace is electric, the skill is mind-blowing, and the passion? Unmatched. But what’s truly inspiring is the journey behind the game. These women are not just athletes—they’re balancing careers, family, and the demands of competing on the international stage. And here’s the thing: they aren’t doing it for the money. Like many Olympic and Paralympic athletes, their motivation runs deeper. When you support organizations like the USA Volleyball Foundation you’re doing more than just funding a sport. You’re empowering athletes like these women with limb differences to be role models, showing young amputees—and girls everywhere—that they, too, can dream big and achieve greatness. It’s not just about winning medals; it’s about showing what’s possible on the biggest stage. 🏐💪 Let’s celebrate and support these incredible women, paving the way for future generations. As my 50th Birthday-50k steps-$50,000 fundraiser kicks off, this is one of the organizations I will be raising money for. Keep following along the journey! #Paralympics #SittingVolleyball #USAVolleyball #Inspiration #AdaptiveSports #WomenInSports

The Big Row is back: Row the distance from Paris to LA, 5 – 8 September. I believe rowing is for everyone; and everyone can row. Moreover, everyone has the right to row. For some, the experience of rowing offers positive life transformation. Love Rowing is a charity that helps to create opportunities for individuals, particularly those from communities currently underrepresented in our sport, to experience rowing. I was fortunate to start rowing at school several decades ago. It has partly shaped who I am today. I am passionate about rowing’s ability to support physical and mental wellbeing and creating a sense of belonging. I joined Love Rowing as a Trustee in 2021 to contribute to its mission and have met some wonderful rowing people in the process. Love Rowing is British Rowing’s charitable foundation aiming to transform lives through the sport, bringing new diverse communities to rowing. We want more people to experience rowing, whether on land or water, with a focus on traditionally underserved groups, including: - Young people from low socioeconomic backgrounds - People with disabilities - Ethnically diverse communities The Big Row 2024 Row together from Paris to Los Angeles. This challenge is for everyone, whether you row on land or water, solo or in a team. We aim to raise £60,000 to support inclusive and accessible rowing projects across the UK. This will help get more people involved in rowing, changing lives for the better. How You Can Get Involved: 1. Register: Click the link below to sign up. 2.
