#MakeInIndia: At last, I am building what I wanted to as a kid 🇮🇳🙌
A factory. And not just any, but Asia’s largest of its kind.
..
As a kid, I was always fascinated by factories.
I loved watching things being built, from simple toys and clothes to complex machines.
This curiosity led me to study engineering. And, coupled with my passion for being a business owner it led me to build Emotorad with my cofounders.
And after years of building ourselves bigger and stronger, we are now on our life’s biggest pursuit.
..
We are building an e-cycle Giga Factory.
The largest in all of Asia. Yep, including what’s there in China.
And it’s all driven by a sense of three things that weave us four co-founders together.
(Image: That's me with one of my 3 stellar cofounders- Kunal)
..
One.
We dream big and execute bigger.
That drives the confidence that the world’s within our reach and everything’s possible.
There’s literally no constraint, except our own bandwidths and capacities on how much can we take on our plates.
..
Two.
We believe that the act of making things is deeply ingrained in the Indian psyche.
We have a rich tradition of craftsmanship, from the intricate designs of our textiles to the sturdy construction of our ancient monuments.
But in recent decades, we've lost our edge in manufacturing. We've become overly reliant on imports, while our own factories have struggled to compete with cheaper alternatives from other countries.
And all four of us have always been quite emotive about this. We don’t like the status quo, and are strong-headed on changing that as much as we can.
..
Three.
We all sincerely believe the time for a renaissance in Indian manufacturing has come.
It's time to reclaim our heritage as a nation of makers, innovators, and creators The "Make in India" initiative is a step in the right direction.
But we need to go further. We need to focus on quality, innovation, and sustainability, so that we build products that are not just made in India, but made for the world.
..
I know building such a massive factory is an ambitious vision.
Especially because it is coming from four ordinary founders of about 4yrs in age.
But I believe it's achievable. And like it has been about all of Emotorad’s journey, we will build it and show how it’s done.
..
I’m bullish on Indian manufacturing. What about you?
