Dear "Certain Indian Schools and Universities", Kindly stop testing students on a curriculum that was designed almost 200 years back and has no relevance in the job market. 1. Timelines in History won't help students in shaping their career lines. 2. Learning scientific definitions by heart/rote are meaningless if the students cannot understand the real-life applications of the same. 3. Formulae in Mathematics are pointless if students have to use gadgets to get the end results. Please teach Logic instead of certain irrelevant chapters. 4. Moral Science to be checked in behaviour & not on a single paper. 5. General Knowledge & Current Affairs are meaningless if students lack Self-awareness. P.S. I've seen many students who have been considered as slow learners, disabled, lazy etc... even though they can't perform well in written exams but they perform brilliantly when comes to application of logical thinking, problem solving skills in daily life situations. I feel they must be evaluated based on their practical skills rather than just through the uniform, method of constrained written exams. ✍️. 👉 We all know that according to Gardner's multiple intelligence theory, intelligence is not just about memorization🙇, language expression, it goes beyond that. 💡This topic is reminiscent of the narratives in the 📽️ Bollywood movie" 3 Idiots" where these flaws were raised, but they were hardly taken seriously or applied. 🪄

Hello everyone as new education policy has imparted skill India concept which in my view is very good initiative. But the problem lies in its implementation . Here are some of my views:- Indian education system is still in the path of theoretical learning which is difficult to remove. School find it difficult to inculcate skill education due to heavy syllabus load. Children who get habitual of theoretical learning find it difficult. So how we can make our education skillful? First reduce all the burden of book from student syllabus and give them more practical work as a homework like cooking classes , dramatic classes , AI based practical task not theoretical task. Evaluate student performance based on their practical knowledge application. Points should be given on the basis of practical application. It's high time to stop theoretical learning otherwise unemployment will eat up whole India . #Skill India #SKill youth

I was always a writer. I used to write well in English & win essay writing competitions and debates in school. Until class 10th, I was a school topper topping every exam. A few days ago I was going through the JEE Mains paper of 2023. The paper was full of numericals. Even chemistry and physics had numericals. These numericals are nothing but application of formulae and calculation with values put inside these formulae. You have to know which formula to put inside which question, so the concepts have to be clear. This is shameful. In a country of over 140 crore, we have to select our scientists and engineers through a bunch of numericals and calculations. The British would just introduce a bloody calculator or write a program that scores cent percent marks on exams such as JEE. Creativity, original thinking, lateral thinking, education (application of all that you've learned in the last 10 years of your life), communication and expression - everything goes for a toss. I've never been a believer in the Indian education system. I did my PG from UCLA Anderson because I knew that I wouldn't be able to survive in an Indian b-school. I was very confident that I would choke inside the IIMs. Even after scoring 99+ percentile on the CAT without knowing anything about the exam, I got calls from the IIMs but I was reluctant to proceed with the interviews. The administrators of the Indian education system have to think holistically. I know that primary education in India is broken. But I went to a great school for my primary education. A school established in 1789 by the British. We had learned to do so much back in primary school that middle school in Delhi was just a cakewalk. Please, kind sirs and madams, let children like us live our lives and please, give children like us a chance. Let us do all that we were introduced to as kids and yet get into the IITs and IIMs. Please do not make it impossible for all-rounders to get into IIT Delhi or IIT Bombay. Introduce an IQ test. Introduce interviews that test communication. Introduce essays that test expression and original thinking. I beg. I plead. Don't make it impossible for all-rounders from elite schools in India to get into your elite institutions. Myths about Indian Education System Myth No 1: Memorizing is Equal to Learning Since forever, the schools have given a special spotlight towards memorizing rather than a practical learning experience for the students. In this education system, it is considered that memorizing is what learning is about. This is a huge loss as the students would be able to memorize, but without getting to know about a concept, which can even be a problem to their cognitive skills and academic performance. Myth No. 2: Importance of Grades/Marks The education system gives a lot of importance to the marks and grades scored by the student. It is considered very important, and the results matter more than the process of learning. Marks are considered to be the only criteria to evaluate a student’s performance, and it is wrong to consider that. There are a lot of factors that contribute to the mental growth of a child, and marks should not be the only criteria. Myth #3: No Career in Arts & Humanities The never-ending debate that happens about science being the most needed subject and that the focus should only be on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects has left the education system with no creativity. There is a need that people start knowing about the different career paths that can be taken without the science subjects, and that interests and passion matters a lot. Myth #4: No Questions Asked! Many times, it is considered to be rude if a child asks questions to the teachers or the parents. The education system does not encourage the habit of questioning and fails to understand that pursuing one’s interests is also equally important for one’s happiness and health. Myth 5: Theoretical Knowledge over Practical Knowledge It is considered that the classes that happen between the four walls are better than students gaining practical knowledge in the real world. It is important to realize the fact that the students eventually have to face the real world, and should know how to live in this world. Thus practical knowledge is of utmost importance and there should be a good balance between the two. Myth No 6: A Single Assignment Judges Everyone Fairly A famous saying goes, “Do not judge the fish’s capabilities by its ability to climb a tree.” But this is not how it goes in the Indian Education system. Students are judged on the same tasks, which makes it unfair for everyone. The one who scores well is a bright student and the student who does not get good marks is a dull student. It is important that they realize they need to stop judging the marks of the students. 🙏🏻

WHY IN INDIA we are forced to study for so many years like 10 years till 10th Minimum those subjects forcefully which many of us don't want our children to study like SST , HINDI , EVS , ETC , why students can't select subjects like Finance , Computer , Coding , Technology , ENGINEERING , MATHEMATICS , PHYSICS , CHEMISTRY AND BOLOGY from class 6th instead of class 11th , if they really want to become POET or something realted to SST they can do tha t after completing firts 16 yrars of education as well . DOES IT REQUIRES VERY BIG REVOLUTION , WHY WE HAVE TOSUFFER
