That’s a wrap on Worksafe month! We’ve had a jam-packed month of safety activities including a bumper week with Airport Safety Week too. This year we have acknowledged the collaborative efforts of working alongside our precinct partners and our development project partners as we embark on $330 million of development, while keeping Tasmania’s gateway operating throughout. Safety is everyone’s business, no matter what role you play or what brings you to the airport, we all deserve to reach our destination safely. So, what did we get up to? 🚌 Runway bus tours for our precinct teams to check out the worksites that are part of the airfield upgrade (thanks Downer!) 🚶♀️ Downer organised a FOD walk to clean up and pick up debris from the airfield that can pose a risk to aircraft. 🏏 Hobart Hurricanes and Cricket Tasmania spoke to the precinct about keeping your mind and body safe in a high pressure environment 🛬 Our kids activation was a hit with our smallest travellers in Depatures who learned how to park a plane safely 🎬 The WorkSafe Tasmania team joined us to help launch our latest Safety Week video – check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gi2RHmpB 🍔 Whole of precinct and construction team BBQ Hutchinson Builders Luke Moore Moore Civil Contracting Australian Airports Association

It's a fact that road safety is a responsibility we all share. As we draw nearer to National Road Safety Week 2024, which is just a few weeks away, it's the perfect time to take a moment and remind ourselves about the crucial role we fulfill in maintaining safety on our roads. This is an important reminder that our all our actions make a significant difference, especially on the roads. Let's take this opportunity to renew our commitment to road safety and make a conscious effort to drive safely. Make the pledge to drive so others survive today. #BeEngineeringSolutions #beengineeringsolutions #BEES #bees #DAREStudio #technology #civilengineering #trafficengineering #engineering #NationalRoadSafetyWeek2024 #RoadSafetyWeek #RoadSafetyWeek2024 #RSW2024 #RSW #staysafe #drivesafe

Posts from the Operational Railway: A Safety Notice Sometimes I will post photos from my Heritage Railway involvement on LinkedIn to show folks what I get up to, illustrate my passion for this area of my life, and hopefully enthuse those around me to get involved in volunteering activities of their own choice, or even choose a career in the Railway industry generally. I wish to emphasise that any photos I post which were taken in an operational setting were done so with all the appropriate measures taken for my own and others' safety; for instance, I will not have been actively engaged in performing safety critical work at the time, and if I am lineside I will a) have business being there in the first place, and b) not be placing myself in danger. Despite their older equipment and lower line speeds, Heritage Railways are still safety critical environments, governed by many of the same rules and laws as the National Network. Heritage Railways can also injure, maim and kill just as well as modern trains if you get on the wrong side of them, and are to be approached with the appropriate level of respect.

#SafetyWeek 👷♀️👷♂️ A look back at Safety Week 2024! ⬅️ Last week was a great deal of discussion and #sharing at Colas Rail, especially on our safety practices at all our sites within offices, workshops and worksites. The theme of this edition is a very important one, as unfortunately very common, in the way we carry out our activities. So what should we do when a last-minute change occurs in our day-to-day activities? 1. I stop working 🫸 2. We analyse 💭 3. We find a suitable solution 📈 4. I go back work safely 👌 Safety is our only priority to ensure everyone going home safely everyday. #ColasRail #Caring #OneSafety
