Happy Independence Restoration Day, Lithuania! For me, Lithuania has the vibe of a friend who is always ready to support you in everything. He doesn't know the outcome of your move; he knows just that life is a movement forward. Like: " Hey Lithuania, I'm going to open a kebab stall near the park. Worth? What do you think?" Lithuania:" Yeah, why not? If you are set. I have some pita bread, 100% organic. Will be my contribution to your stall for now." Today is WA Day, a celebration of all things wonderful about Western Australia. Amidst the festivities, it’s worth reflecting on some of the unique rules that keep this great state in order. In the grand tapestry of legal rules and regulations, Western Australia has sewn a particularly unique patch. In this special corner of the world that I call home, it's illegal to clean up after seagulls without a proper licence. Yes, under Section 387 of the Criminal Code Act 1913 (WA), if you dare to remove guano without official permission, you might find yourself spending a year-long stint behind bars. So next time you're out enjoying the pristine beaches of WA and feel an urge to tidy up, remember: leave the guano be, or it’s off to the clink with you! Rules, especially in the workplace, need to be current and make sense. Whether it's mandating the use of hardhats when there are no overhead hazards or requiring workers to don gloves when there's no risk that requires them, it's important to ensure that our rules serve a valid purpose.
