Networking is extremely important for transitioning service members. You're locked into this military community for however many years, forward to 30, and you have your little network. So think of it this way. You're leaving that network and you're going into a civilian network. That civilian workforce, a lot of them are on LinkedIn. I would leverage LinkedIn. Very, very hard when I'm doing my transition. There are so many organizations out there, veterans out there who are on LinkedIn sharing their advice, sharing resources, and just making those connections and reaching out to people who are in those organizations to find out what resources are out there, what jobs are out there, what tips and tricks people have, and really commenting and engaging on LinkedIn. It really will get your name out there, make those connections, make those relationships, and that will. Hopefully help you in terms of finding jobs out there that you might not have known of before.
