The operator of senior centers in Spain DomusVI has completed a €92 million sale and leaseback transaction involving eleven senior residences. The assets have been acquired by Romano Senior, a recently established SOCIMI by Azora in collaboration with Banca March and Indosuez Wealth Management. These properties have a total area of 60,000 m2 and a total of 1,400 bedspaces, and are primarily located in densely populated urban areas. The Bird & Bird team advising DomusVI was led by Lourdes Ayala, M&A partner (pictured left), and included associate Alba Aparicio Martín from the Real Estate team led by partner Conchita Sáinz Sodupe (pictured center), along with associate Begoña Vega Rivero. Why are large foreign real estate investors missing from Greek residential segment? Scale and lack of liquidity. Players like Greystar and Hines want large-sized investments.
