In today’s world, the way we work is changing fast, and it’s time we rethink our approach to flexibility and work-life balance. Studies have shown that offering flexible work options can lead to an 89% increase in employee retention—something McKinsey pointed out. And it’s not just about keeping people on board; companies that focus on work-life balance can reduce employee turnover by 25%, according to SHRM. This isn’t just a nice-to-have anymore; it’s essential. Almost 79% of employees believe flexible work would significantly improve their work-life balance. So, if we’re serious about attracting and retaining top talent, we need to get serious about flexibility. For me, it’s clear: creating a work environment that respects personal time while promoting productivity isn’t just smart—it’s necessary. Let’s build workplaces where people can truly thrive, both at work and in their personal lives. #WorkLifeBalance #FlexibilityAtWork #Leadership #FutureOfWork #EmployeeWellbeing

I recently came across a compelling report on work-life balance from Michael Page about Talent Trends for 2024. The report reveals a significant finding: 48% of employees in the survey would decline a promotion if it compromised their work-life balance. This statistic underscores the growing awareness among our workforce about the importance of balancing their professional and personal lives. It's clear that organizations need to adopt more flexible working models, such as remote-first approaches or flexible working hours, to prevent employee burnout and foster a healthier work environment.

I've been back at Sledge for just over a year now and it's been so great to step back into an agency that truly focuses on their people as well as planet and profit. Sledge being an Employee Owned Trust was a green flag for me and played a huge part in my decision to come back. Another massive factor was the people. It's cliche, but you spend so much time with your colleagues and every single person is key in creating the fabulous environment that makes Sledge a great place to work. Our industry amazes me. Often operating in dynamic and agile teams we deliver massive scale and exceptional quality projects. It's so important to recognise that ultimately everyone is human and our needs are different due to an untold number of factors. Working in an environment that takes this into consideration is the foundation of that working environment that pulled me back to Sledge. We go above and beyond for our clients and it's so important that as a business we go above and beyond for our people. #StoriesThroughOurEyes #Sledge #PeoplePower
