Real Estate Asset Manager and Land Developer / Ex-Pharmaceutical IT

Don’t let the smiles in this picture fool you—we were juggling more challenges than we could count. It was just days before Thanksgiving, and our property manager at a 100+ unit apartment complex—three states away—quit unexpectedly. Now, to be fair, they weren’t exactly setting the bar high. But their timing? Brutal. With no one to cover the office, Delphine Dung Nguyen, CCIM and I packed up and made the 18-hour drive to stabilize the situation ourselves (this pic was taken as we sat in our driveway about to head out). At the same time, two of our other projects were heading into public hearings for rezoning—both demanding our full attention. It was chaos, plain and simple. But here’s the thing: Through the stress, the long hours, and the uncertainty, we found something valuable. We bonded. We leaned on each other. And we came out the other side stronger as a team. The result? A new property management team that delivered real, profitable results for our investors. It wasn’t the relaxing holiday we imagined, but it gave us lessons we’ll never forget. This year? I’m hoping for a little less drama and a lot more turkey. What’s your wildest pre-holiday story? Let’s hear it—because we all have one. Che Capital Asset Management
