Flow and Move...or Flow then Move. Either way HEN has your Back. First let me give a huge Thank You to Captain Matt Kearny for organizing and inviting me to this three-day First Due Engine Company Operations Hands-On Class in Big Bear, CA last month. The instructors (Dave Morgan, James Shin, Tim Garren, Ryan Backus and Brandon Squires) were top notch. The students came from as far as Hawaii and Las Vegas. They learned some awesome Flow and Move techniques on day one and then on days 2 and 3 they got to put those techniques to test under live fire. I am very appreciative of Matt and the entire staff for inviting me to come and share our HEN Nozzles with the class. It was great to watch the newest members of the fire service learn about our adjustable smoothbore nozzles. While learning to Flow and Move, the HEN Blade 160 (160gpm@50psi) along with the HEN Turbo (25psi Back Pressure Increaser) allowed them to cover their advance without having to think about moving the nozzle as well. The HEN Bladed pattern is covering and cooling with those big, thick solid stream droplets, while the Turbo is giving them an extra 25psi in the hose making it virtually kink and nozzle whip free. What can you see is even the newest students, who are just learning to move while flowing, are applying water at a high level. And that is one of the real benefits of the Bladed Pattern. The newest firefighters are better at applying water because the HEN Nozzle is doing most of the work. Better at their jobs of applying water means they are more likely to get out and back home safe and in the same condition as when they left. At HEN, that has always been our focus and mission. Making the job of firefighting a bit less volatile and giving today's firefighter a better chance at getting back home to their families. HEN has your back.
