Halieia 2024! Originating from the ancient Greek island of Rhodes, Halieia /Ha-lee-uh/ was a festival traditionally hosted in honor of Helios, the sun god. The grand celebration united talented athletes, musicians, and envoys across Greece. Halieia may no longer be widely celebrated, but we set sail this summer by focusing on the same core ideas: teamwork and connection. Together, we celebrated the team’s success and welcomed new interns to our community. The work of each member allows us to grow and perform at our highest level. A day spent sailing was the perfect way to start the summer. Inside and outside of the office, we are constantly reminded of how important each member is to our success and continual growth. We could not be more grateful for the chance to celebrate our community and the accomplishments they have achieved. #Helios

🌊 „You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.“ Being back in my hometown (Bamberg), homeregion (Franconia), homecountry (Germany) is always accompanied by emotional and mental rollercoasters. How would life be if I had not moved abroad? How would I be if I had not moved abroad? 🤔 So many questions, reflections and wonderings. So well summarized by the quote from William Faulkner above. 🔝 I might have given up a lot. But I have also gained a lot. By living abroad 🌍 💛 you learn to deeply acknowledge the beauty and positive sides of your home-home. 💛 you gain self-awareness and go through a deep process of personal development. 💛 you increase intercultural sensitivity, intercultural empathy and intercultural competence. 💛 you meet the most interesting, inspiring and impressing people from all over the world. 💛 you experience the importance of resilience and understand what is truly important in life. Personally and professionally I am looking forward to the fall-season in Sweden and my commitment within Interkultur i Lund (Eos Cares). 🍂 I am glad to being able to support other internationals in their journey abroad, to work with community building and social inclusion, to build bridges between people, cultures, and internationals and the Swedish jobmarket. „You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.“ 🌊 For me it would definitively have been easier not to swim alone. 🤝 ❓ What have you gained and how have you changed by living abroad? What would (have) help(ed) you in the journey? #Swedishperspectives

Top 5 Fun Facts About Norway! If you've ever wondered what makes Norway so unique (and sometimes quirky!), here are five funny facts that will make you smile. Whether you're planning a trip or just love learning about different cultures, Norway has a few surprises up its sleeve! 1️⃣ Norwegians Love Frozen Pizza! Believe it or not, the most popular dish isn't traditional seafood or meat dishes—it’s Grandiosa, a frozen pizza that holds a special place in Norwegian hearts. It's basically a national treasure. 🍕 2️⃣ Slow TV is a Big Deal Why binge-watch dramas when you can watch a live broadcast of a train journey or wood being chopped...for hours! Norwegians invented "Slow TV," and it's oddly relaxing. 🚂🪵 3️⃣ No Sun in Winter? No Problem! In some parts of Norway, the sun doesn’t rise for months during the winter, yet people stay surprisingly upbeat. It’s all about "koselig" (the art of coziness) and enjoying candle-lit evenings and hot drinks. ☕🕯️ 4️⃣ The King Can’t Be an Atheist By law, the Norwegian King is required to be Lutheran. It’s one of those old traditions that still stands even though Norway is one of the most secular countries in the world. 👑🙏 5️⃣ Russ Partying Season Before graduating, Norwegian high school seniors go wild with a month-long celebration called "Russ," where they wear brightly colored overalls and partake in crazy challenges. Think of it as a quirky rite of passage! 🎉👩🎓 Which one surprised you the most? 😄 #Norway #FunFacts #Culture #Travel #NordicLife #Norwegian #PhilologyStudent #OptiVisionary #AlconInternship #Alcon

What is in your backpack? I recently embarked on a transformative 3-day tour at Ikara-Flinders Ranges, organized by the Australia Awards South Asia and Mongolia team. This journey wasn't just about exploring stunning landscapes; it was a deep dive into cultural reflection and sensory experiences. At the Welcome to Country ceremony, our insightful guide John posed a thought-provoking question: "What is in your backpack?" This encouraged us to reflect on the values we carry when entering new cultures. As a blind Australia Award scholar, this reflection held special significance. The tour offered a sensory-rich experience, where I perceived the world through the vivid descriptions of my fellow scholars. From the start, we were immersed in understanding the Aboriginal culture and their deep connection to the land and traditions. The serene landscapes, the rustling of leaves, the feel of the cool breeze, and the warmth of the sun on my skin were all brought to life through John's stories and teachings. This journey was a powerful reminder of the importance of sensory experiences and the unique ways we can appreciate and connect with the world around us. John's question, "What is in your backpack?" resonated with me on a profound level. It made me realize the significance of carrying qualities like openness, curiosity, respect, and empathy. These are the attributes that enable us to truly connect with and understand different cultures. As I continue my journey as a scholar, I am reminded of the value of these qualities. They enrich our experiences and allow us to form meaningful connections with others. This trip to Ikara-Flinders Ranges was not just a journey through breathtaking landscapes but a journey within—a reminder to pack my backpack with the values that matter most. So, I ask you: What is in your backpack? What qualities and values do you carry with you as you step into new experiences and cultures? #CulturalExchange #WelcomeToCountry #IkaraFlindersRanges #WilpenaPound #AustraliaAwards #DiversityAndInclusion #Forgiveness #ReflectAndGrow #SensoryRichExperience #AdnyamathanhaCulture #RespectAndUnity #LearningJourney #BlindScholar #CulturalRespect #AustraliaTour

✈️🌍The Basque Country is positioned as a strategic hub in air connectivity, thanks to its solid infrastructures and the quality of its services. With its three Airports (Loiu, Foronda and Hondarribia) close to its major cities, the region is connected to key destinations in Europe and Spain. This connectivity not only facilitates access to international markets, but also enhances the mobility of professionals and tourists, boosting economic growth and investment opportunities. 🗽 This excellent connectivity has been recently reinforced, thanks to the 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗯𝗮𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗼𝗿𝗸 that will operate three times a week between May 31st and September 24th, opening a brand-new scenario for US investments in the Basque Country.
