While tele-consultations are clearly very convenient for patients, they suffer from the same problems of face-to-face visits: lack of doctors and high costs. That's why I am not surprised by the latest withdrawals from this space by Walmart Health, by the failure of Babylon and by the continuous need to fundraise by the large players offering tele-consultations. At Healthily we believe AI can play a key role in dramatically streamlining costs and providing the needed scalability for this useful service to become financially viable.
