First Aid at workplaces This guidance is designed to assist employers, employees, safety representatives and others to understand the requirements set out in Chapter 2 of Part 7 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work General Application Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 299 of 2007) first-aid.

The HSA is delighted to announce the release of the updated Guidelines on First-Aid at Places of Work. Key changes include the update to the training requirements for occupational first-aiders to reflect the PHECC FAR training standard, updates to first-aid kit contents, guidance on emergency showers and eye washes, and updates with information on AEDs. This guidance helps employers, employees, safety representatives, and others understand the requirements outlined in Chapter 2, Part 7 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Regulations 2007 (S.I.
