Let's talk Impact Often, we assume that Impact needs to be a grand gesture driven by business or senior leaders. But that's not the case. Impact can be as simple as bringing something new to a scenario or situation, hopefully positive. We all have something to teach someone else, be it our experience from living through something or our knowledge in a certain subject area. When I set up SheBeasts C.I.C three years ago, I never thought that I would have such a huge impact on so many females. Even more so, I never imagined the impact the 100+ females we have supported would have on me! I am just getting started on impacting more females from backgrounds like my own so that they can impact more females, and together we can create an Impact that is longstanding in our communities. We’re launching a new initiative aimed at removing the stigma that our unhoused members face every day. This isn’t just a project; it’s a movement that calls for our kindness, empathy, and grace. The first step in this initiative is simple, yet powerful: stop walking by so quickly. Stop looking away. Stop creating the narratives you share with family and friends that may distance you from the reality of others’ experiences. Instead, take a moment to look someone in the eyes and say, “Hello,” “Good morning,” “Good afternoon,” or “Good evening.” Let them know that they matter, that they’re seen. But it doesn’t stop there. We’re also encouraging everyone to show up as themselves—set your title, your brand, your status aside. Dress in your most comfortable clothes and step into the community not as a professional, but as another human being. By doing so, we break down the barriers that often keep us separated and remind each other that at the core, we’re all just people who want to be seen and valued. I know it’s not easy. We live in a world that moves at lightning speed. Many of us encounter challenges at work where we aren’t always treated with the dignity and respect we deserve. And after a long day, it can be incredibly difficult to go home and continue pouring into others when our own cups feel empty. But this is where our strength lies. By embracing our shared humanity and supporting one another, we can create a community where everyone feels valued, seen, and respected. It starts with small acts of kindness, a little more patience, and a lot of understanding. Together, we can make a difference.
