Our eyes are windows to the world, granting us the ability to perceive, appreciate, and navigate our surroundings. Yet, often, the importance of maintaining good eye health can be overlooked. #Nationalsaveyourvisionmonth serves as a gentle, yet crucial reminder to prioritize the health of our eyes and maintain a clear and bright outlook on life. Are you eager to contribute to this vital cause? Here are some ways to engage: Book an Eye Exam: Regular check-ups are pivotal. Make an appointment for yourself, and encourage others to do the same. Limit Screen Time: In our digital age, reducing screen time can help alleviate eye strain. Remember the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break and focus on something 20 feet away. Wear Protective Eyewear: Whether you’re engaged in sports or handiwork, ensure your eyes are protected from potential hazards. Share Information: Use your platform, whether social media or otherwise, to share resources, tips, and facts about eye health. Support Vision Charities: Donate or volunteer with organizations dedicated to eye health and vision care. #SaveYourVision2024 #EyeHealthMatters #ProtectYourPeepers #VisionCareForAll #202020Rule

It was so lovely to get my hair done recently. It feels like forever since it was treated....... This made me realise that after speaking to people over the years since running this charity, hairdressing appointments, beauty appointments, and dentist appointments are kept, made regularly, but opticians aren't. Why, I don't know, but this needs to change and become a part of your scheduled appointments, and this is why....... Many people underestimate the importance their opticians could play in their vision and eye health. It is a very common thought that opticians can only test your vision and that people can tell themselves when their vision has worsened. This, of course, is not true. Opticians can detect a number of eye health and body health problems from looking at your eyes alone. People do not notice small changes to their eyes, and as a result, they could be putting more strain on them than realised. The NHS recommends that you should get your eyes tested only every 2 years (more often, if advised by your optometrist). Do I need to say anymore? Now, let's change this. Let's schedule your opticians appointment like the previous ones mentioned. It's all about opening your eyes to a better health. #eyes #eyecare #awareness #opticians #appointments #charity #charities #eyes #eyecare #eyehealth #optometrist #hairdressers #beautysalons #dentists #doctors #health #healthcare #disease #vision 💕

8,733 women, infants, and children were provided for by Tapestry Health's WIC office this past fiscal year. This means 8,733 women, infants, and children received diapers, breastfeeding support, school supplies, health recipes, groceries, and more from Tapestry Health. One participant reflects, "My son used to be a picky eater, but since I have been coming to WIC, I have learned how to introduce new foods, like whole grains into his diet. I feel like he is eating healthier now." Donate today and help Tapestry continue to provide these essential items: https://lnkd.in/eT_gV5jM

🌟 Join the 5th Annual CAPWHN Diaper Drive! 🌟 Did you know that 1 in 5 Canadian families struggle to afford enough diapers to keep their babies dry and healthy? 😔 This reality forces many families to make heartbreaking choices, like cutting back on food, utilities, or medicine just to provide basic care for their little ones. The impact of diaper need: - Increased risk of diaper dermatitis, infections, and discomfort. - Babies may be kept in wet or dirty diapers for extended periods. - Parents face anxiety and stress, unable to provide the care their child needs. - Families may be unable to use daycare without disposable diapers. 📦 How You Can Help: Donate full or partial boxes of disposable diapers of any size or brand, or diaper wipes to your local food bank, diaper bank, or shelter. These essentials are the most needed items, and your contributions can make a significant difference! 📸 Share Your Efforts: Make sure to take pictures of your donations and post them with #CAPWHN. You can also email them to admin@CAPWHN.ca to showcase your support. Let's come together to ensure every baby has access to clean diapers and the care they deserve. 💙 Follow this link to learn more: https://lnkd.in/eUH7YWDP #DiaperDrive #CAPWHN #HealthyBabies #SupportFamilies #CommunityCare

Just last week, the U.S. Department of Labor published a new report with staggering statistics. Americans are now spending 11.3% of their disposable income on food, the highest percentage in 30 years. At TASK, we have clearly seen the impact on our community. Last month, we served 49,000 meals across the Trenton area. This was the highest monthly meal count in our 42-year history. We are predicting that we will serve more than half-a-million meals this year, a record-breaking amount. As the cost of food rises so, too, do other expenses. As a result, requests for basic necessities like soap, shampoo and toothbrushes have skyrocketed. We are on track to distribute more than 1,000 hygiene kits a month, a three-fold increase over the past year. Your donations help us continue to meet this surge. In the upcoming weeks and months, we hope you'll consider making a donation of one or more of the following items to help your neighbors in need: Full-size adult and children's shampoo Full-size adult and children's toothpaste and toothbrushes Full-size body wash Bars of soap Deodorant Feminine hygiene products (all types and absorbencies) Baby wipes and showerless body wipes Gallon-size Ziploc bags Donations are accepted at our pantry door, Mondays - Thursdays between 8:30am - 3:30pm and Fridays between 8:30am - 1:30pm. No appointment is needed. NOTE: Unfortunately, we cannot accept donations shipped to us via Amazon or other delivery providers, as we are unable to schedule delivery and cannot accept packages during off hours. Good hygiene is critical to ensuring healthy, happy households – positively impacting people's physical and mental health, like our friend Nehemais (age 9, pictured here). Together, we can help improve the quality of life for thousands of adults and children across the Trenton area. Thank you for your continued support!

Please Help Us Identify Those in Need In our recent outreach efforts, we've witnessed firsthand the profound impact of addressing diaper needs within our communities. We've identified parents, groups, and communities facing significant challenges in accessing essential sanitary products, particularly reusable diapers. Diapers are not a luxury; they are a basic necessity critical for the health and well-being of infants and toddlers. Neglecting this need can lead to serious health issues and economic strain for families already struggling to make ends meet. Our mission is clear: to ensure every child's dignity by providing sustainable solutions through our distribution of reusable diapers. By targeting vulnerable groups, we aim to alleviate the financial burden associated with diapering and empower families to thrive without compromising on their children's health. Join us in this crucial endeavor to support parents and communities in need. Your involvement, whether through donations, spreading awareness, or identifying families who could benefit from our assistance, will make a significant difference. Together, we can ensure that no child goes without the basic necessities they need to grow, learn, and thrive. Let's work hand in hand to address diaper needs and build stronger, healthier communities for generations to come.

“Why does it matter how he’s dressed?” After my last post, many shared thoughts on whether dressing casually in a professional setting affects professionalism or authenticity. But here’s the real question: Does attire define your ability to connect, care, or communicate? In my experience, the answer is no. Professionalism isn’t about adhering to rigid dress codes—it’s about showing up with integrity, compassion, and authenticity. Whether I’m wearing scrubs, a hoodie, or a suit, my commitment to serving my patients never changes. It’s time we re-evaluate what we consider “professional.” For me, being authentic in every setting allows me to connect better with patients, especially those from marginalized communities who often feel alienated in clinical environments. It’s not about what I wear—it’s about making sure every person I encounter is treated with excellence, and feels heard, respected, and understood. The 15 White Coats is working to ensure that the future of medicine is inclusive and that every doctor brings their full, authentic self to the table. Support our mission at www.15wc.org with a tax-deductible donation. #AuthenticityInMedicine #PatientCare #HealthEquity #The15WhiteCoats #ProfessionalismRedefined
