Community Lunch Success Story! This week our community café menu featured an incredible donation of 150 handmade samosas from a wonderful and generous member of our community. 🥳🥟❤️ Our meal was a feast of flavours, beginning with a homemade curry brimming with fresh vegetables and halal chicken, generously sourced in partnership with the amazing Building Bridges charity in Brighouse. 🍛🍗🌿 This delightful curry was paired perfectly with rice, the handmade samosas, and flavourful seekh kebabs. 🍚 To top it all off, we indulged in scrumptious buns, lovingly baked by one of our dedicated volunteers. 🍋🍰 This event was a beautiful testament to our community's spirit and ability to come together to create culinary excellence for those in need. 🤝✨ If you have a special dish you love to prepare, we’d love to hear from you! Your culinary skills could be the highlight of our next community meal. Struggling with fundraising? The answer is a tin of baked beans. Plain, unseasoned haricot beans. Dull, flavourless, eaten by peasants for survival but nothing else. Stick ‘em in a sweet, rich tomato sauce...a feast fit for a King! 👑 Did you know that Heinz Baked Beans were sold as a luxury item in Fortnum & Mason when they first arrived in the UK in 1886? What I’m getting at is the importance of how you dress your fundraising ask. Beans will always be beans. But you can dress your beans with flavour to make the difference. So, what does adding flavour look like? Here are a few tips: 📖 Use stories. Countless studies have shown that people remember and respond to stories more than information. 🎯 Frame project details around impact. You’re not just running sports clubs for young people. You’re making physical activity accessible and fun, creating opportunities for new friendships, reducing isolation, reducing risk of obesity, health conditions, crime rates... ❌ Don’t over-do it. You don’t need Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans. You don’t even need any mini pork sausages. A simple sauce will suffice 😋 What else would you add to the fundraising recipe? 👇🏼 #charity #comms #fundraising

Food = fuel. So why is that at sports day this week did I look over and see a kid with a Co-Op bag of sausage rolls some over processed crisps, a bag of sweet and another bag of something I didn't even know what it was. Yes we're told not to put fizzy drinks in or chocolate bars but the majority of kids are being fed total shit everyday. School lunches aren't much better and the quality doesn't make your kids want to order it. For some it's the only proper meal they get all day so why are we still going round in circles after all the amazing work industry and chefs have done. I find it hits some of the bigger ones but what about the little primary schools or those that need food vouchers to survive? Great to see a new manifesto out from Chefs in Schools yesterday which outlines how they're changing this but as an industry and with so many in the food industry how can we make change happen sooner and on a bigger scale? Read their manifesto here > https://lnkd.in/eN-eUyis I've offered charities free consulting time, profit share of what we make Kitch to go towards this and we're still 12 months on waiting to partner with someone that's actually making a change and honestly it worries me that we're trying to give money away to the cause but no one seems interested. Would love to know what others are doing in this space and get involved to help if we/I can. #FoodinSchools #KidsFood #SchoolFood #SchoolMeals

As we welcome November and the holiday season, it’s a time of year for gratitude and a reminder of the power of giving back. Food banks across our communities are working hard to help families put together holiday meals, but they’re often short on critical items that can make a real difference. If you’re considering donating, here’s a list of high-need items shared by food bank volunteers: 1. Boxed milk, oil, and real butter/margarine for meal prep basics. 2. Canned foods with pop tops (or include a can opener!) to make meals accessible. 3. Essentials like spices, salt, and pepper to flavor holiday dishes. 4. Treasured items: sandwich bread, eggs, and fresh produce. 5. Cake mix and frosting to help make a child’s birthday a little brighter. 6. Dishwashing detergent is often expensive and is a blessing to families. 7. Tea bags and coffee brighten everyone's day. Looking to help out? Use these resources to find a food bank near you: 1. FeedingAmerica.org for a national network of food banks. 2. FoodPantries.org for a directory of food pantries, soup kitchens, and food banks. 3. FindHelp.org for food and other assistance programs based on location. This season, let’s work together to support those in need. Small donations can mean a lot to families looking to create special holiday moments. #EOATechnologies #GivingBack #FoodBankSupport #HolidaySeason #CommunityMatters #MissionFirst

Many of us take photos of our food at restaurants and post on social media, well, why not give back to the community at the same time? Meet Andrew Glantz, CEO of GiftAMeal, which is a brilliant way to be philanthropic while eating at your favorite restaurant. And in this clip, Andrew explains how it works. Just take a photo of your meal at participating restaurants on the free GiftAMeal app, and GiftAMeal will donate to a local food bank, which will then provide healthy groceries to a family through a network of neighborhood pantries. It’s that simple. Share with friends, and your impact grows. It’s actually brilliant, and super easy So far, Andrew says more than 2-million meals have been provided to over 130 food banks across 38 states, with 190 participating restaurants. Andrew’s goal is to be present in all 50 states and reach 10-million meals. He says profit and purpose can co-exist, and it’s his mission to make that happen, putting a dent into the hunger problem. Please find my interview with Andrew Glantz on all video and audio platforms of #DeborahKobyltLIVE, and invite your friends, too. In your host, #DeborahZaraKobylt, and it’s my pleasure to welcome you here. Please also invite your friends, too. @giftameal #giftameal

Best charity legacy pie recipe 2025: 1. Plan and prepare all the internal ingredients so they work together. 2. Dare to be different and test some new flavours to intrigue the taste buds. 3. Prepare a cooking plan to make sure you avoid a disaster 4. Agree "outers" of pie so that it looks really inviting. Crusty or soft? Are the potentially hungry those who like to savour taste over a long meal or just bite? Maybe some have dentures or no teeth! 5. Test a completed dish with family and gain (literally) feedback. 6. Agree best channels to promote your recipe to the right audience - online and offline: Alllegacyrecipes? BBC goodlegacy? Or piggyback on a celebrity chef de legacy? Or even publish a legacy cookbook? 7 Start laying the table and warming the plates so you are ready to receive guests and serve them on time. 8 Sit back and wait for reactions but do not believe all the results. More people like to complain than praise. 9 Start washing up and discover the sticky bits 9 Don't sit back and do nothing. Every recipe can get better and better so you make it YOUR OWN. #legacyfundraising #legacygiving #philanthropy #fundraising #donorlove #recipesforsuccess #legacies #plannedgiving #bequests #legacies2025 Happy legacy cooking in 2025 - I do! It is my other passion.

Georgia Main Food Group Limited is leading the charge in reducing food waste—and they’re doing it through action, not just donations. In partnership with the Immigrant Link (ILCS), Georgia Main staff recently spent a day volunteering to pack and distribute nutritious food hampers for families in need. This experience brought them face-to-face with the people and communities they’ve been supporting through their food recovery program. Since partnering with FoodMesh in 2020, Georgia Main has diverted 2.4 million kg of unsold food—equivalent to more than 4 million meals—to charitable organizations. Read all about it in our latest post on the Quirky Pear blog: https://lnkd.in/gg7QKks6 This is the kind of leadership we need to fight hunger and reduce environmental impact. By not only donating unsold food but also stepping onto the frontlines, Georgia Main is helping to build a stronger, more sustainable future for everyone. A huge thank you to ILCS for their tireless work, and to the Georgia Main team for going above and beyond! 💡 Is your business ready to take action against food waste and make a difference in your community? Fundraiser’s Dinner Etiquette Tip #4: Utensils You find yourself at dinner, but the place setting is much more complex than you are used to. You don’t want to make a bad impression on your dinner companions. Where do you start with all of the various utensils? Here are the main considerations to keep in mind: 🍽️Start on the outside, and work your way in. Utensils for the main course will be closest to the plate. 🍽️If soup is served, the spoon will be on the outermost right side, since it will be the first course of the meal. 🍽️ Dessert forks and spoons will be placed at the top of the place setting. 🍽️ Wine glasses will be arranged from right to left in the order that they will be used. The water glass will be the inmost glass, placed right above your knives. What formal dining situations have you encountered with donors? #DinnerEtiquette #petrusdevelopment #fundraising #development #faithbasedfundraising #fundraisingdinner #EtiquetteTips
