I have literally never worked for a company that addresses employee feedback in a timely manner. Sometimes management just didn't care, sometimes they suffered from analysis paralysis, sometimes they were well meaning but not elegant in their approach, but in all cases they triggered more harm in their own teams. It's not that hard to do this well. And because this is so often a huge pain point, when it is done well, it's a massive differentiator.
If you ask an employee for feedback about their workplace or engagement and then do nothing about it, resentment quickly rises. Nothing builds positive momentum for an engagement initiative more than asking for feedback, doing something about it, and then sharing and celebrating positive results. Here are some steps you can take in response to a survey: 1. Build grassroots accountability. 2. Have effective action planning sessions. 3. Assign action item leaders.
