More than 8 months have passed since we shipped the first Dygma Defy units. And just like proud parents watching their kids off to their first day of school, we were filled with excitement, relief, and worry. When we decided to make the Defy keyboard wireless, we envisioned a seamless experience that would leave no feature out: - Bluetooth connectivity to up to 5 devices ✅ - Ability to connect via low-latency RF ✅ - Ability to use the keyboard wired ✅ - Switching those 3 modes quickly ✅ - Connect seamlessly every time with no hiccups 😵💫🤯🥴 Well, the last one has been more challenging than expected. There's a reason no other split keyboard in the market offers these 3 connectivity options, and we're learning it the hard way. The truth is, there was no other firmware that had this option. QMK is only wired, and ZMK wireless keyboards only work via BT. So we had to make our own, from a branch of the Kaleidoscope firmware. With so many connectivity options, there are far more corner cases that we couldn't predict until thousands of people started using the keyboard. When an issue does show up, it takes time to replicate and fix it. This is just one of many examples of how difficult it is for a small electronics company to manage both hardware and software. Even when the kids are settled into their school routine, we continue to encounter new challenges and opportunities to learn.  Our journey with the Dygma Defy has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but with every update, every fix, and every enhancement, we are getting closer to the seamless experience we envisioned.
