what is meant by dynamic maximum green ==> In NTCIP standards, there are four types of maximum green times: MAX1, MAX2, MAX3, and MAXINH. MAX1, MAX2, and MAX3 offer flexibility to use different maximum times in various action plans, while MAXINH is utilized during coordination operations. Dynamic maximum refers to a flexible approach for setting the maximum green time for a traffic signal phase. Unlike a fixed maximum green time, dynamic maximum adjusts based on real-time traffic conditions. ===> According to the NTCIP standard, the conditions for dynamic maximum are as follows: When a phase reaches its maximum green time twice consecutively, and subsequently on each occurrence thereafter, one dynamic max step value (which is 3 seconds as you can see in the picture )is added to the running max until this addition exceeds the larger of the normal maximum or the dynamic maximum limit. Conversely, ==> if a phase gaps out twice consecutively, and on each subsequent occurrence thereafter, one dynamic max step value is subtracted from the running max until this subtraction would fall below the smaller of the normal maximum or the dynamic maximum limit. ==> If a phase gaps out in one cycle and reaches the maximum in the next, or vice versa, the running max remains unchanged.

Join our session at the Nordic Geographers Meeting in Copenhagen 24-27th of June: Experimental governance and how it is influencing urban and regional planning processes, practices and networks   Convenors: Kristina Trygg, Ida Grundel, Linköping University, and Daniel Keech, University of Gloucestershire Session abstract: This session focuses on experimental governance (EG) and strategic urban and regional planning. EG is being implemented increasingly in cities around the world as a model for urban and regional change, through e.g. city street experiments, living labs, testbeds, innovation districts, and demonstration arenas, where experimentation is used to test innovative solutions to address urgent sustainable challenges and uncertainties. The set-up of experimentation is often built on public-private partnerships and co-creation processes, but where local authorities have become a key stakeholder or initiator. This stretches the responsibilities of local authorities beyond traditional practices of urban and regional planning, public services and local democracy. In particular, the expectations on local authorities to deal with complex sustainability issues at a local level are high and pose significant governance and capacity challenges to drive change. How this is done varies geographically and functionally. Questions of interest (but not limited to): • What kind of experiments are taking place; how are they experimental? • What institutional capacity is used to govern urban and regional experimentation? • What forms of EG seem more/less effective and in which functional areas (e.g. economy, land use, health, transport, culture)? • How is EG influencing urban and regional planning processes, practices and networks? In addition to the Distinguished Microwave Lecturer (DML) program, MTT-S offers the Speakers Bureau (SB) program as another technical service to its members. The program provides a pool of expert speakers selected by the MTT-S Technical Committees from various technical fields who can deliver talks on a case-by-case basis, subject to technical focus, location, and availability of funds. The operation procedure of the program is simple:  The in-person SB talks can be requested by Chapters and MTT-S financially sponsored conferences. The maximum financial support per speaker is US$1000/trip and US$2000/year. The request can be made directly to the speakers. The virtual SB talks can be requested by a Chapter or any MTT-S Members. If requested by MTT-S Members, you would need minimum three members to support the request and at least one of the three members must be at “member” grade or higher. Please note that each speaker has a limited availability for the talk. The request will be run on “first come first serve” basis. To avoid disappointment, you may make requests early.
