Handcrafted 100-bead tamarind prayer beads with multiple dividers and a beautifully sculpted long alif/imam. It has 5 sculpted dividers and 18 small tamarind wood saucer beads between the dividers. The small saucer beads are to accent the dividers. It is made from the dense core of the tropical Asian Tamarind fruit tree (scientific name: tamarindus Indica). These style prayer beads are smooth to the touch and enjoyable to use. This 12x7mm-bead tijani (teejani) tasbih, fits easily over the head because it has a 30.3 inches (77cm) inside circumference. This tijani prayer bead set also features 5 beaded stops instead of tassels and an alif which is 2.8-inches (7cm) long. Having 3 extra 10-bead counters, this tasbih will serve well for carrying out extensive repetitions or khalwas (spiritual seclusion practices). Perepedil prayer rug from eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea Age: circa 1870 Size: 5′.2″x4′.3″ (157×130 cm) This unusual eastern Caucasian collectable rug displays individuality in the prayer format;the red field;the presence of small ewers;a date panel;four strongly stylized humanoid figures and vertical ram’s horns in the spandrels.The niche is decorated by a band of curled motifs.In addition there are snowflakes,rosettes,birds,diamonds,animals,dragons,lazy S’s and other smaller elements.The dark blue main border shows a Kufesque pattern of rosettes and brackets.There are two secondary borders with colorful striped segments.Inside is an ivory tertiary border with floating stars and within that is a blue innermost meander pattern attached to the niche.The outermost frame displays red and green keyhole reciprocals.There are eight narrow barber pole lines in the border system.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition including the ends and sides. www.hagopmanoyan.com
