What could be better than making the everyday things around you beautiful and visually intriguing for a living? #creativeprocess As a Creative director I generally develop and oversee projects at the earliest stages. The cast vision, form concepts and design language . These are the big-picture I visualise at beginning . The need is that I should close the eyes and see the finished product, even though it hasn’t been created yet. And while focus is typically on the bigger picture of getting the work done and the direction it’ll take, that doesn’t mean an eye for detail falls to the wayside. “Because I have the mindset of wanting to understand even the smallest piece, I’m able to look beyond the normal details others see and create something more thoughtful and impactful,” #thework So My role as creative director is to attend meetings with clients, heading up team brainstorming sessions and spearheading the initial concepts of a collection . They map out future plans and make sure the result and process match the client profile , I have developed to reach goals and objectives. Consider all technical constraints, such as equipment availability, location logistics, and crew movement challenges during shooting. 𝟮. 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻. Create a comprehensive action plan encompassing all stages of video production, addressing both creative and technical/logistical aspects. Maintain constant communication among all project participants to ensure alignment and progress. The producer's role is pivotal in balancing departmental priorities. 𝟯. 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆. Evaluate the scope and scale - it's crucial for the creative team to understand the "boundaries of creativity." To avoid wasting time, specify the location, the number of shooting days within the budget, and where technical compromises can be made for a great idea. This highly motivates the creative team, which often feels constrained. 𝟰. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀. Immediately communicate with the creative team about plans to improve efficiency. Whether it's filming scenes from different parts of the video consecutively in one location or prioritizing costly talent whose fee equals a crew shift before handling other aspects, clear communication is essential. The creative team also needs time to prepare, especially for non-linear shooting sequences. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! Some brands are bringing video production services in-house. "Doesn't that suck for you, Dan?" No, we actually work with several. In fact, nothing says "we value the power of video" like a company that uses both internal and external resources. But over the years, we've noticed something: leadership often staffs in-house teams with camera operators, editors, gaffers, but scrimps on directors. And those who do have an in-house director, it typically falls on the shoulders of one person... who is likely wearing several other hats. This might work for some projects, but could other projects benefit from different directors with unique perspectives, experiences, and talents? Ad agencies roll this way. Why shouldn't you?
