This approach helps children build confidence, resilience, and a sense of security. Here are some key traits of a proactive parent. But first, be sure to give us a follow for more content! 1) Anticipating Challenges: Proactive parents think ahead about potential challenges and prepare solutions, whether related to school, friendships, or family routines. 2) Setting Clear Expectations: They establish clear rules, values, and expectations to guide their child’s behavior, promoting understanding and consistency. 3) Encouraging Open Communication: They create a safe, judgment-free space for their children to talk openly, building trust and making it easier to address issues early. 4) Fostering Independence and Problem-Solving: Proactive parents allow their children to make age-appropriate decisions and solve problems on their own, building confidence and resilience. 5) Modeling Positive Behaviors: They demonstrate healthy, constructive behaviors that their children can learn from and emulate, such as patience, empathy, and effective communication. Caught your eye? Let's talk about a game-changer in my industry: setting boundaries. 🚧 Picture this: a children support worker's day, filled with the emotional intensity that comes with guiding youngsters through challenges. ♥️ It's beyond rewarding, but it can also pull at your heartstrings in unexpected ways if those boundary lines blur. Three things to remember: 1️⃣ **Firm but Fair:** The balance is crucial. Setting clear-cut boundaries helps both me and the kids understand the do's and don'ts. It's about creating a safe, predictable space where children can thrive. 🌱 2️⃣ **Personal Space:** Just as important. It's easy to pour your heart into your work, but taking the time to recharge is key. Imagine a garden - without rest, how can you expect any plant to bloom? 🌻 3️⃣ **It's a Two-Way Street:** Boundaries aren't just for you as a support worker; they empower children too. They learn the respect and structure that helps them navigate their own relationships. 🔗 To see the difference these boundaries make, both in the calm moments and during the stormy ones, will be worth it. Whether you're a fellow recruiter or a passionate soul in the care sector, I'd love to hear your views on this. #ChildrenSupport #Boundaries #SupportWorkerLife

Thought for the Day: What can a child bring to a family? So much. Yet, we often hold back their potential by assuming they’re too young to make choices or grasp consequences. But how can they develop the expected maturity society demands if they aren’t given the chance to explore, make mistakes, and learn from real experiences? True growth comes from participation and firsthand learning, not just from being told what to do. Parents often feel overwhelmed, but it’s not the children causing the burnout—it’s the habit of taking on everything alone. When we involve children in daily routines, share responsibilities, and value their input, we foster teamwork and resilience. A family that collaborates, without fixating on immediate outcomes, creates an environment where everyone thrives. Recognizing and encouraging a child's contributions doesn't just build a functional family; it shapes empathetic, capable individuals who can positively impact their communities and the world. This approach is especially beneficial for children with neurodevelopmental and cognitive differences, as it nurtures essential skills in a supportive environment. If you’re feeling overwhelmed as a parent, I encourage you to reflect on how involving your children—especially those with unique needs—can create a more balanced family dynamic. Together, we can foster an environment that nurtures growth and resilience for everyone, paving the way for a brighter future! #ChildDevelopment #Empowerment #FamilyDynamics #Neurodiversity #CognitiveDevelopment #Parenting #GrowthMindset #Teamwork #SupportiveParenting #InclusiveEducation #Resilience #LifeSkills #ParentingTips #FamilySupport #Nurturing #PositiveParenting #ChildEmpowerment #MindfulParenting #LearningTogether #FutureLeaders

I’m Jonno and I think we’ve abdicated too much responsibility to the state. Our teens are living through a crisis and we keep looking to other people to solve our teen’s problems then being frustrated with the results. I used to do it too. I felt like I was drowning. I’ve spent the last decade utilising the power of gaining my teen’s perspective to help them turn things around. My mission is to help parents learn these skills so they can help their teen without having to rely on school. Consistently my parents end up advising their schools on what to do. There are three skills I am passing on: Learning to gain your teen’s perspective Using their perspective to make communication effective Handing them the techniques to deal with their own issues It’s why I founded Same Boat Parents; to help busy parents upskill themselves. So often I’ve helped professionals I admire make changes which have turned constant worry about their teen into a feeling of control and autonomy. If this strikes a chord then connect and keep an eye on what is to come. #PeopleFirst #Wellbeing #WorkplaceWellbeing #ContinuousImprovement #GrowthMindset #ParentingTeens #Community #ChildMentalHealth #ParentalWellbeing #Parenting #FamilyFirst #ParentLife
