Groundwork Southcoast's Green Team youth are at the forefront of critical local food access work—caring for community garden beds, stewarding green spaces, and ensuring that fresh, healthy food is accessible. This work is fueled by donations from neighbors like you. Did you know? Our community gardens do more than grow food—they grow resilience. Free, accessible community garden plots help combat food insecurity while strengthening connections within our neighborhoods. And the benefits don’t stop there: these vibrant green spaces also mitigate heat island effects, reducing surface temperatures by up to 40°F during hot weather, according to our youth-collected data. By supporting GWSC today, you're equipping local youth to make a lasting impact where it's needed most. Together, we're creating a healthier, more equitable, and sustainable future for Southcoast Massachusetts. #GivingTuesday 💚 This season of giving, give the gift of food access and environmental resilience. Every dollar counts, and every donation plants seeds of change. 👉 Give now: https://lnkd.in/e7c-6tyv

When the City Council steps up to support your efforts in #foodwaste solutions, then you know you have the right people on your team! Great work NYC! Other cities large and small can use this as an example to follow and advocate for change and the city councils can use the power they have with their own budgets to support #communitycomposting, #communitygardens, and #communityyouthengagement in the fight against #climatechange. #sustainability #climateactionnow
We were glad to see the news that funding for NYC's #communitycomposting program was included in the city's just-adopted final FY ’25 budget! Congratulations to the City Council, the nonprofits being funded, and the city's residents, who will continue to have access to this important #foodwaste solution. Here's what we CAN do: 1) DONATE NOW: BigReuse is keeping NYC composting alive. Your dollars DIRECTLY support keeping food out of landfills. https://lnkd.in/ezjjvtzc 2) GOOGLERS: Let's get that match and double the impact! https://lnkd.in/ezWcTnBQ 3) SHARE THIS POST: Spread the word – NYC needs to know composting matters! #LOVE 💙 for our families and future generations is THE key reason people give to #climate nonprofits and act on #climatechange. So it's no surprise that a father-daughter duo's love for their own #SanDiego community led to the formation @zerowastesandiego. That was back in 2006 and by the next year, the group was an official nonprofit formalizing its work on #recycling and #zerowaste. Educating people on #reduce #repair and #repurpose became a key focus. The group has diverted thousands of pounds of waste from the landfills. Fix-it clinics and symposiums have been critical to expanding the reuse mindset beyond this passionate volunteer group. @ZerowasteSD is part of the #EarthGivesDay initiative - matching YOU with these people-powered groups across the United States. This organization is one of more than 100 nonprofits featured at EarthGives🌎org - a one-stop platform for YOU to invest more in #climate action, #climatejustice #wildlife and #environmentalstewardship. Together, we can boost #climate #generosity past just 2% of all giving. 💚👈 Invest in their work here and "circulate" the generosity: https://lnkd.in/gd-3_QJ4 #donations #giving #earthgivers #nature #generosity #circulareconomy #givingtuesday #waste

Lancaster's youth is taking action to #FightClimateChange. Will you join them? https://lnkd.in/e599iTVY After all, the decisions we make today will determine their future - how breathable is their air, how clean their water, if they can grow up with rivers and woods, if they can still rely on their local farms. Some of us were lucky enough to inherit these things, and it's our responsibility to pass a livable planet onto the next generation. You can join youth climate advocates like Ruby in helping to implement solutions to the climate crisis. You can help protect the parks, wildlife, plants, and mountains that she loves. You can help preserve both our planet and our future by supporting RegenAll on Extra Give. On November 22nd, donate to bring climate solutions to your neighborhood and to Lancaster County. When you support RegenAll during #ExtraGive, you are supporting events like the Lancaster Climate Summit shown here, and you’re supporting a more resilient future for all.
