I get it. Doing proper, traditional journalism is expensive. But surely this approach isn’t sustainable? Massive shifts and opportunities in the media space. It won’t be easy and it will require a lot of hustle and creativity. But those brave enough will come out top. If I was DM, I’d go 100% paywall and then do a secondary site under a different brand for free public interest content. Also a third revenue stream is crucial, products maybe? What do you think about the future of media/journalism? What models could work in SA?
