Summer has arrived, Florida! ☀️ Dr. Rebecca Lopez from #USFHealth's School of #PhysicalTherapy & Rehabilitation Sciences is researching ways to prevent heat illnesses and exertional heat stroke in athletes. We're proud to be working with Ladder to implement the Surviving Adolescence Parenting Program. Now that the first round of parents have graduated, the results speak for themselves! ⭐ 100% of parents believe that their relationship with their child improved. ⭐ 100% of parents feel more confident in opportunities to connect with their child. ⭐ 100% of parents felt the Surviving Adolescence program provided them with the relevant tools to build their relationship with their family. When parents were asked to describe the program using one word, words including 'helpful', 'informative', 'caring', 'involved', 'empowering', 'safe space' and 'calm' were mentioned.

Emergency communicators are the first lifeline in a crisis. #MacEwanU profs Douglas Johnson and program chair Tim Williams are researching stress and wellness in these roles to improve the university’s Emergency Communications and Response program – and the wellness of those on the people who answer when we call 911.
