Progress towards a more diverse environmental sector has not only stalled, it’s reversing. For the first time in the history of Green 2.0’s Transparency Report Card, the percentage of full-time staff of color has decreased. Learn more at bit.ly/2024-TR. We need the unique and valuable insights of those most affected by climate change to successfully address environmental issues. Aligned with Article 25 of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, which guarantees the right to an adequate standard of living, the 222 PM recognizes that life itself depends on access to measurable amounts of water, food, and shelter. These essentials are fundamental to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as outlined in human rights documents globally. Key Points for Early Support: 1. Human Rights Alignment: The 222 PM enforces the principles of Article 25 and affirms that the right to life cannot exist without basic needs being met. 2. Support for the SDGs: The 222 PM directly addresses SDG 6 (Clean Water), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Communities) and is backed by trillions in existing SDG funding, ensuring its global impact is both feasible and measurable. 3. Sphere Handbook Principles: Built on the humanitarian standards of the Sphere Handbook, the 222 PM refines these best practices with data-driven, adaptive algorithms to dynamically manage resources. 4. Scalability and Measurable Impact: With the ability to scale from local to global levels, the 222 PM offers real-time tracking and measurable outcomes, appealing to early supporters seeking tangible results. By aligning with fundamental human rights, established SDG goals, and proven best practices, the 222 PM presents a compelling, actionable solution to ensure life’s basic necessities are available for all.
