Utilizing a 'General, Low-Cost, and Intuitive Teleoperation Framework for Robot Manipulators' or (GELLO). We can teleoperate robot arms to accomplish complex and precise manipulation tasks. We tested with a single UR5e to gather human demonstration data, for training robot arms to perform complex tasks using imitation learning. Will human soldiers ever trust their robot comrades? According to an article by IEEE Spectrum, some explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams emotionally bonded with their robots. On the other hand, some loathed their machines, especially when they malfunctioned. Unfortunately, when it comes to human-robot collaboration, one of the hardest hurdles is the humans' lack of trust. While the engineering challenges of creating robotics are pretty much straightforward, the social and psychological challenges in convincing people to place their faith in machines such as soldier robots are complex. However, the prospects of human-machine collaborations and teams are promising because ultimately, humans need assurance (and this can progressively be attained over time). Researchers introduced "Code-as-Monitor" (CaM), an innovative approach that helps robots detect and prevent failures in real-time. CaM turns both reactive failure detection (spotting failures after they happen) and proactive prevention (catching potential failures before they occur) into a unified constraint satisfaction problem.
