Inspired by case winner. It is a real life example of why DE&I (not dead:) matters and how you can support “the movement” with what you already have. What MAK Did 1. Hosted Leadership Events MAK brought together leaders and experts to talk about how to give more people access to opportunities. Events like the MAK Leadership Forum and MAK X helped connect people who could make real change. 2. Launched Campaigns for Action They started initiatives like “#TakeAction” and the “CEO Commitment for DE&I” to get business leaders to commit to improving inclusion in their companies - leaders were expected to follow through. 3. Changed the Conversation MAK worked hard to show that DE&I isn’t just about fairness. it’s also good for business. When companies are more inclusive, they perform better and innovate more. What’s the secret to true job satisfaction? ☺ Our colleague Anna Oñate is one of a group of Sappi employees who has celebrated a special anniversary recently – for Anna, the 15-year anniversary of joining our team straight from college. So who better to ask for clues 🔍 as to what makes a great place to work? According to Anna, “Beyond the geographical and development opportunities most multinational companies have, at Sappi you can fulfil a purpose – by supporting the transition from fossils to fibre-based packaging.” That purpose – to build a more circular economy by making what we should, not just what we can – is important to all of us at Sappi.
