For big food brand owners like McCormick & Company who source from all over the world, scope 3 emissions dwarf scopes 1 and 2. Scope 3 makes up as much as 95% of McCormick's carbon footprint, and packaging constitutes 8% of that figure. “The era of make, use, dispose is over. We have to be thinking about make, use, reuse as we go forward if we want to save the planet," said Michael Okoroafor, Ph.D. at the recent Packaging Recycling Summit. He added: “If we want to reduce our carbon footprint, packaging has to be an integral part of that. There is no decarbonizing the planet without decarbonizing packaging.” Find out how Okoroafor and McCormick aim to do just that: https://lnkd.in/gSXEq3h6 #PackagingRecyclingSummit #Scope3emissions #circularpackaging #packagingrecycling #packaginginnovation #carbonreduction
