While at @ShopTalk, I went to the retail shops at Mandalay Bay and below are the chairs that are located in the common area. 🪑 I don’t know about you, but these chairs don’t look very comfortable and they were not. When I go shopping, I like to have a great common area where I can sit, relax, go through my messages, do posts like this and then get back up and go shopping again. This does not invite me to do that. These chairs do not invite your customers to sit and relax. What does your common area look like? Is it inviting? Is it comfortable? Does it invite shoppers to sit down rest, and then go back to shopping? Does it provide a comfortable experience? If not, it’s time to assess. Shoppers want to relax, put their bags down, have a conversation, check emails and interact socially in a comfortable place.🛍️. Consider how important the common area and seating areas are to your shoppers and make it an experience, a comfortable one. Your customers will thank you and so will your retailers. Today’s consumer more than ever wants an experience when they go shopping. Make your common area an experience that encourages your shoppers to want to stop, take a break, relax, hang out and then go shopping again. 🛋️🛍️ We can assess and provide you with great comments and feedback as well as great suggestions. Here are five straightforward tips to help you find the perfect furniture for your home at Mid in Mod. 📋1. Do Some Research Early Before Black Friday, make a list of the furniture you want 🛏️, like a stylish mid-century modern sofa or dining table. Check prices ahead of time so you can spot real discounts when the sales start. Some stores raise prices before sales, so being informed helps you get true savings 💡. 💰2. Set a Budget and Prioritize With so many discounts, it’s easy to overspend! Decide on a budget and focus on what you need most 📝. Are you upgrading your living room or just looking for a unique piece? Sticking to a budget keeps you on track and helps avoid impulse buys 🛑. ✉️3. Sign Up for Early Access Stores like Mid in Mod often give early access to sales. Join their newsletter or follow them on social media 📲 to stay updated. Early access helps you get the best pieces before they sell out, especially popular items like sectionals or accent chairs 🪑. 🔍4. Compare Prices Don’t go with the first discount you see! Look at Black Friday furniture deals from different stores, both online and in person 🏬💻. This is especially important for more expensive items. Be sure to check out Midmod Houston for unique, stylish, and affordable mid-century modern pieces. 📦5. Review Return Policies and Delivery Times Check the return policies before buying—Black Friday deals may have stricter rules! Also, ask about delivery times to avoid delays, especially if you need your furniture by the holidays 🎄. With these tips, you’re ready to make the most of Black Friday furniture shopping! 🎉 Enjoy finding stylish new pieces at Mid in Mod and make your home look amazing 🏡✨.

An Idea for Brick-and-Mortar Stores: Instant Satisfaction for Lasting Excitement Here's an idea that comes from experience—and it actually works, though we don't talk about it enough. In brick-and-mortar stores, there's a unique opportunity to create instant satisfaction for customers. Think about it: when someone buys a sofa, they aren't taking it home that day. They've enjoyed the shopping experience, felt the endorphin rush of making a decision, but that excitement can quickly fade when they get home empty-handed. So, what's the solution? Make sure they take something home right away. There are a couple of ways to do this: 1. **Offer a Free Gift:** Create a promotion where purchases over a certain amount come with a free item. Buy a sofa over $599, and get two accent pillows, a set of lamps, a mattress protector, or a pillow for free. It’s a small addition, but it gives customers something tangible to take home and set up immediately. 2. **Cost-Effective Add-Ons:** If giving away items for free isn't feasible, consider offering these add-ons at cost. The goal is to enhance the customer's experience, not necessarily to make a profit on the extras. When customers take something home, they continue to ride that emotional high from their purchase. Setting up a new lamp or placing accent pillows on their current sofa keeps the excitement alive and builds anticipation for the big purchase to arrive. But it doesn’t end there. Throughout the process, keep them updated on the status of their main purchase to maintain that excitement. Regular updates, along with the instant gratification of a smaller take-home item, keep the endorphin level high and the experience memorable. Ultimately, this approach encourages customers to rave about their experience and leave positive reviews. It's all about keeping that excitement up throughout the entire furniture buying process. So, go for it—give away those lamps, or at least offer them at cost. The bigger picture is creating a lasting, rave-worthy experience for your customers. #CustomerExperience #RetailSuccess #InstantSatisfaction #FurnitureRetail #BrickAndMortar #CustomerJourney #LoyalCustomers #FurnitureMarketing #HomeDecor #RetailInnovation

Opening our first brick-and-mortar flagship store has been a game changer for Marea. While our roots are deeply planted in e-commerce, having a physical space has brought incredible new energy and opportunity to the brand. Here are three reasons why our Flagship has been such a meaningful part of our growth: ✔️ Strengthened Customer Connection: At Marea, community is everything. Having a physical store allows me to connect directly with our customers, hear their stories, and gain invaluable insights. Whether it’s feedback on fit or ideas for new designs, these conversations help us create pieces that truly solve wardrobe challenges. ✔️ Elevated Brand Perception: There’s something magical about walking into a space that embodies everything Marea stands for—heritage, thoughtful design, and timeless style. Our flagship is more than a store; it’s an experience that strengthens customer trust and deepens their connection to the brand. ✔️ Driving Revenue in Meaningful Ways: The store is not just about sales—it’s about solving real-time needs for our customers. It allows us to test ideas, refine fits, and respond instantly to feedback. This direct interaction fuels our ability to design exactly what our customers want, driving long-term value for the business. Every visit to the store reminds me why we do what we do: to create heirloom-quality pieces that fit beautifully, feel amazing, and make life just a little bit easier. I’m so grateful for our Marea community and the role you all play in shaping our designs. If you’re in the area, come say hi—we’d love to see you! ✨

One of the best New York City retail success stories you’ll read about today. It’s not your shimmering Madison Ave luxury store. Nor is it your SoHo high-end designer boutique. And it’s not your Fifth Ave Department Store, dazzling with spectacular holiday lights. It’s Christmas Cottage, New York’s oldest Christmas shop, a holiday décor destination for the city’s yuletide tourists since 1985. A tiny 600 sqf shop nested on 7th Ave, just a few steps away from Central Park, Christmas Cottage survived the twists and turns of the economy and the many transformations of the city’s retail landscape by (drumroll) adapting. In order to be successful through these times of instability and ongoing disruptions, those that thrive are quick at reading and acting on signals of change. It’s a paradigm shift from being good at doing some particular thing, to being really good at learning how to do new things. Read through the Retail Brew interview linked below in the comments to get some refreshingly simple, yet so crucial, learnings that each and every retailer, big and small, should rigorously live by. Some examples: 1️⃣ Space optimization | Christmas Cottage optimizes its space by merchandising just a few of each ornament on its hook-adorned walls, while also showcasing them on color-coordinated trees. “I don’t need to show the same sweatshirt 10 times over. I don’t need to show Christmas eight times on a hook. If you know how to generate the traffic and move the traffic, you can achieve the same bottom line.” 2️⃣ Shopping experience | Their biggest department is ‘writeables’, customizable ornaments celebrating milestones like engagements or first Christmases. And their Tik Tok worthy turtledoves. 3️⃣ Differentiation | To stand out from the slew of gift shops slinging “I Heart NY” T-shirts that it must compete with for any non-holiday offerings, the shop works to stock items not found in those stores, often self-manufacturing items. “We try to stand out a little bit from the rest of the tourist-driven retailers,” he said. “It’s a game you play, and you have to navigate and be current and try to change constantly. Not an easy task, but we try.” So simple, yet so rare to find in many of today's greatest protagonists of the retail scene. #retail #shoppingexperience #stores #merchandising #sales #holidays #linkedinpostsbymariopace

🎁Holiday Shopping Safety Tips 💰 Unfortunately, during this season, there’s often a spike in robberies at places like shopping centers, strip malls, etc. A few basic safety tips for your next holiday shopping trip: 📡situational awareness Turned On. Pay attention to what’s going on around you as you arrive at your destination. 🚗Park your car wisely. Within view of the doors of the store you’re going to ideally. 📱Remove valuables or conceal them from view before leaving your car 🔐 Lock your car doors 👀Before starting your walk to and from your store, first do a visual scan of the area. Anyone make you feel uncomfortable? If so, wait, go back inside, change location, etc. Bonus Tip: 💰Going to a big name designer brand store? Think about what the bag and brand name on that bag says to people? It says, “hey, I have something really expensive inside this bag!” Consider having a “throw down” bag, or at least do your best to not advertise that you just made a purchase from an expensive store. How are you sharing basic personal safety tips with your family, friends and colleagues? security training can be as simple as sharing these out, complemented by a meme or a digitial flyer (like the one I made here on Canva) #security #safety #holidays #shoppingsafety #retailsafety #securitytraining
