PM Modi Ji's recent speech to the startup community at Startup Mahakumbh was both electrifying and inspiring. He acknowledged India's booming startup ecosystem and its contribution towards the vision of becoming #ViksitBharat by 2047🚀. Government initiatives like UPI have been revolutionary for startups especially the fin-tech sector. In the recent interim budget, a one lakh crore corpus for an innovation fund was announced to catalyze private investments in sunrise technologies. Back when I started my first business in 1996, the perception towards starting up was quite different. But today the narrative around entrepreneurship has transformed dramatically. Starting up is now celebrated🎉. The Indian youth are redefining their roles from job seekers to job creators. With 110+ unicorns, 1.25 lakh registered startups and 12,000+ patents, India is the third largest startup ecosystem in the world. This is a testament to our ability to innovate and execute with minimal resources. As we celebrate these milestones, PitchRight Ventures continue to empower our entrepreneurs and innovators, for they are the architects of a Viksit Bharat.

I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on the launch of the Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR)! As someone who has navigated the ups and downs of the startup world, I understand how crucial it is to have access to the right information and resources. So, why is BHASKAR a game-changer for startups? 🔍 Centralized Information Access: We all know how overwhelming it can be to sift through countless sources to find the right insights on funding, regulations, and market trends. BHASKAR simplifies this by providing a one-stop knowledge hub that empowers us to focus on our growth instead of getting lost in the noise. 🤝 Informed Decision-Making: Having reliable data at our fingertips means we can make smarter, faster decisions. In the fast-paced startup environment, every moment counts, and BHASKAR equips us with the insights we need to seize opportunities and pivot when necessary. 🌐 Networking and Collaboration: One of the most valuable aspects of the startup ecosystem is the connections we make. BHASKAR encourages collaboration between startups, investors, and mentors, fostering a community where we can learn from each other’s experiences and share resources. As we embrace this new tool, I truly believe that BHASKAR will play a significant role in driving innovation and growth for startups across India. Let’s make the most of this opportunity and support each other on our journeys! Visiting #Lucknow is always special, especially when connecting with startup founders and stakeholders. The energy and aspirations here are truly commendable, with the city striving to match the innovation hubs of Bengaluru and Hyderabad. However, one observation stands out: the overwhelming focus on building unicorns rather than profitable and sustainable entities. It’s worth noting that while Bengaluru and Hyderabad have fewer unicorns than Delhi-NCR, they boast a significant number of profit-making startups that drive long-term growth and stability. The sooner Uttar Pradesh's ecosystem pivots toward profitability alongside innovation, the better it can establish itself as a leading player in India’s startup landscape. #StartupEcosystem #LucknowStartups #ProfitabilityMatters #InnovationWithSustainability #UttarPradeshStartups Papswap Center for Public Policy The Nazarbattoo EaseMyNest Prabhu Bisht Nipundta Swapnil Mishra

Abhinav Asthana's journey from small towns in Uttar Pradesh to becoming the CEO of a $5.6 billion company, Postman, is a remarkable success story in the Indian startup ecosystem. Growing up in towns like Basti and Lakhimpur, he first interacted with a computer in Class 5, which sparked his entrepreneurial journey. Despite facing setbacks, such as an unsuccessful attempt to build a Yahoo clone, he persevered and founded BITS360 during college. After working as an intern at Yahoo and contributing to TeliportMe, Abhinav decided to pursue his passion by starting Postman as a side project in 2012. Recognizing its potential, he officially launched the company in 2014 with co-founders Abhijit Kane and Ankit Sobti. Postman quickly gained popularity, attracting millions of users and securing significant funding, propelling it to unicorn status within six years. With 20 million users as of April 2022 and substantial investments from prominent firms like Nexus Venture Partners and CRV, Postman has become a global API platform used by major companies such as Meta, Paypal, and Microsoft. Abhinav Asthana's journey exemplifies how determination, innovation, and strategic partnerships can lead to extraordinary success, transcending geographical boundaries from his roots in Uttar Pradesh to establishing a presence in San Francisco.
