Releasing on the Google play store 🤖 VS releasing on the Apple store 🍎 The play store overall process was quite complicated 😓 : - Create the app with React native/expo. - Join the Google developers program. - Pay 25$. - Build the app for android. - Find at least 20 testers willing to install the app for at least 14 days to unlock production track. Bit of a pain. - Request production access. - Release the app on the play store. By comparison, the Apple store has a simpler process, you just need to: - Discover you'll have to pay at least 100 USD per year to be able to publish your app. - Think about ways to get some money out of your free app. - Realize your native app does not build locally, and you can't emulate or build for IOS, cause it's only possible on macOS. So now I'm not able to build and test my app locally unless I buy a fracking Macbook or something... Wow... What a dick move 🍆

Apple Mac Users I've been using SetApp (https://lnkd.in/eJ_kZcqN) for quite some time now. It's a kind of App Store, largely focused on providing apps for your Mac but also has some iOS/iPadOS apps too. You pay a low monthly (or annual) subscription and you get access to LOADS of apps - which are all included in the subscription (nothing else to pay). Many of the apps are available separately, but you end up saving a lot of money and get a full, unlocked app plus auto-updates. I do a lot of development, project management, consultancy and general business management. There are plenty of apps within SetApp that help me work better. I think it is easier to convince flat earthers that earth is round than to convince Appstore reviewers that my 2nd app is a white-labelled app of the first one and I'm not spaming the Appstore. Does anyone have any idea how to break this loop? My white-labelled app gets rejected by Apple stating design guidelines spam, even though the assets, bundle id and everything is different. #appsubmission #appstore #ios #appstoreconnect
