Quadratic Funding is a unique capital allocation mechanism where donations count as votes, and the number of contributions matters more than the amount contributed. Every quarter, the Gitcoin Grant Program enables individuals to fund projects by making small donations. These donations are then multiplied by up to 100 times as they are matched by a pool of funds, raised by Gitcoin ahead of the round, through the Quadratic Funding function. Value exchange. 🐤 One of the best practices we have found with organizations using our solution is offering an element of value exchange. That can be as simple as handing out a sticker that says "Thank you" to someone making a donation, or in the case of the Toronto Waterfront Festival, handing out these mini rubber ducks to those that tapped. A donation is a value exchange in itself.
